hey guys i need to know how much hp the stock ls rods out of a b18 can handle with arp rod bolts? Also will the stock ls rods work with a itr crank shaft or should i just buy the itr rods, pistons and crank? Im wanting to build a ls/vtec setup for boost but i want to do it on a budget so i don't want to go all out on H beam rods or a new crank shaft or any thing like that considering i dont need a race car. I also dont plan to run high boost either just a little cause it will be my daily driver around 8psi with a t3 turbo more than likely a turbonetics t3 turbo that a buddy of mine has. im just looking to have a lill more power our of my 00 civic si, id like to see 300hp after boost but maybe less depending on how much hp the stock ls rods can handle. Any suggestions on what i should do would greatly apreciate it. i been doing reaseach and i keep on finding differnt people saying differnt hp ratings for stock ls rods.

Have the stock rods shot peened, put ARP hardware in em and youll be good to go. Why do you want to run an ITR crank?

my stock ls crank has spun a bearing and its messed up perty bad and i found a perty cheap itr crank and i read that they are better and can rev higher rpms better

ITR's handle RPMs better for more reasons than that. All the B series cranks are stought as hell though.

im wanting to build this motor to where it will at least hit pretty close to 300 hp reliablely but cost efficent. and reason for itr crank is i dont want to spin a bearing at high rpms after rebuild.

You dont stand any more of a chance of spinnin a bearing with a B18A then you do with a B18C crank. You dont stand anymore of a chance of snappin a B18A crank then you do of snappin a B18C crank.

so would you suggest me geting another ls crank and just sticking with that for my build? also how much hp can the stock ls crank hold up and rpms or dose that not matter?
