Hello, this is my first post, so, um, wheres my fruit cake and annoying neighbors? No welcome committee? Fine. So whats up to the HondaSwap community. Anyway, I have a quick question for you guys. I'm thinking of buying an RSX Type-S in dire need of a paint job, and initially I was thinking of the tried and true (black, white, red, silver, bland, bland, blah, blah) and then I thought of a type r theme. But Phoenix Yellow was too flat and pale for my taste, and I always liked the s2000's metallic yellow, aptly named Rio Yellow Pearl. My question is this, what do you think of an RSX in this color? Yes/No.
Think of this paired with Type R red Honda badges, (possibly) bronze rims, Type R wing, side skirts (all 2005 model year), black interior. I have a working concept in mind, but, I'm just curious as to how it will be perceived. Thanks.
Edit: Which face looks better, the pre 2005, or post 2005. If this was covered somewhere, then I'm sorry, but which is more appealing? I think its a tough call. If you do decide, please also state why. Thanks.

Who said I was going to pretend? I fully understand that it is a Type S, I'm just thinking of it conceptually. I like the Type R's subtle aero pieces/ extroverted wing design language. But, I think I was misunderstood in my initial post, when I was referencing the Type R's red badges, I meant the Honda emblems only, not the actual "Type R" emblems/decals themselves. So think more along those lines. I didn't think it would be percieved as pretentiouse. Keep em' coming.

Ditch the badges altogether. I dont think it'd be bad in yellow. If you like the Type-R kit go with it. Its doing the same as putting an Si front end on an EX so I dont see the problem in it.

i think it will look like shit
Really?

That's Phoenix Yellow I believe, from a Malaysian Type R. This is no 05' but I think a visual reference may go a long way.

So you're a JDM-ricer. Okay then.
Hmm. I'm actually coming from the BMW crowd (e36 m3), they couldn't be more diametrically opposed. I've always liked the type r though, and never thought it to be extreme. I like the idea of having a car whose styling was deemed outrageous from the factory, thus giving the car a immature image, then having the car itself turn out to be a pure drivers car, the Evolution IX comes to mind. So, I guess you could say that, but I'm more enthusiast than what you suggest. What about the color? Any suggestions on the aero pieces?

the type r lip kit would be fine or even the a spec kit but i never liked the wing on them.and what color is the rsxs your looking at now

i hate hate hate spoilers. why dont you like the clean swoop of the car without one?

also another thing i hate is badges. if you take off all the badges, the spoiler and find some wheels to go with it, color wise, it might look good.

I'm with the yellow, but not with making it look like anything its not. Type R lip kit and spoiler fine, but badges and decals are too much. It's not a Type R. It's not a Honda. I actually think it will look good with the body pieces and shaved badges. And shaving badges is easy as hell if you already plan to paint it. Are there even holes behind the RSX badges now that I think of it?

What I think you should do is save up and buy a real dc5 and not try to type r a type s up. S2000 yellow needs to stay on an s2000 and never wrap itself around a type s withe honda decals on it. Imo, buy type s paint it a stock rsx colour and save your money for your girlfriend/ boyfriend whatever your into.

It's flat black, or primer black, thats why I would like to paint it. They did everything too, the door jams, the hood, it's everywhere. So paint is imperative.

Character. Some cars without the wing just don't have the same road presence, and I think the RSX's styling is too bland, maybe a trunk lip? I think thats a nice compromise. What do you think?

I want to keep the car as stock as possible, I think I saw a guy with the 09' Si wheels, it didnt look bad at all.

I was thinking of painting them bronze. The Honda badges, well, read below.

Sorry guys, I cant afford a real Integra, although both the Acura RSX and the Honda Integra share the same chassis code so, I dunno, I thought I was getting a real DC5. The Type S is getting a k20/24 conversion, so I wanted to adopt a theme that was in between the Type R and the Type S, I'm also doing a FX35 bi-xenon retrofit as well.Thats why the red Honda emblems. De-badging a car isn't my thing, maybe the Type-S emblems, but thats it. The S2000 yellow is one of the most attractive yellow's I've seen in a long time, and, as it is not a true Type R, I do not want Pheonix, so it was the next best thing. Your girl just paid me last night, that answer your question? (OGMatt trying to test my gangster, had to G-Check him real quick.):gunfight:
