I have a 91 hatch with b16 J1 cable trans. I just completed the swap and took it for a test drive. The car has all gears but when im in any gear the shifter has excessive side to side movement. When im in 2nd the shifter can be moved to look like it is in reverse. Im using avid shift linkage. The linkage will only fit on one way right? The bushings for the linkage is new energy suspension. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks in advance. Between my two cars im having the worst luck
 
what are you using to hold the linkage to the gear selector on the tranny??
i kno i had waaaay loose play when i put my linkage on..and its because instead of using the bitch pin i used a 10mm bolt and nut...it had enough room to wiggle..if your not using the bitch pin use a 12mm bolt and nut and tighten it up really well..also recheck all your bolts for tightness
 
i didnt use that pin like you should it maybe the bolt i put in there. I will check it out. Thanks. I will let you know at the end of the week when i can work on it again.
 
yea..i know for a fact the 12mm will work mint..
