hi i own a 1994 honda civic EG with the D16Y1 engine (SOHC). I am currently trying to figure out what conversion i should do. Should i go H22A or B18C head with the the B20 block. Which will make more power and torque. Im trying to get my EG to do a 13 second pass for noww.. what do you guys recomend ??

h series heads wont bolt on a b series block. are planning on building the internals of this b20vtec?

you need a b20b or b20z bottom end, put higher comp pistons and at least replace the rod bolts if not the rods themselves. then you can put any b series head on there. just do some searching, there are a million b20vtec builds.

ohh sorry for the miss under standing i mean as in a full H22A engine head (and block) put in or should i put in a b18c head with b20 block. Which would you think would run quicker

is this comparison with stock internals on both setups?

if you are leaving the internals all stock and just doing bolt ons, the h22 would probably be faster. the b20 has low compression and shouldnt be revved above 7k rpms unless built.

if i get the h22 i will only put a EMS stinger 4424 ECU and probebly stage 2 cams. But the b18c head with b20 block im going to up the compression to 11:1 also put the EMS stinger 4424 ECU and stage 2 cams.

I'm sorry but I think you'll just have to do some research or else you'll just get a thread with a bunch of he said she said and opinions, not facts. There are soo many variables to determine what will be faster than what.

Just do some research and figure out what YOU want, not what other people with different opinions would want. Some people like H series others like B series, I personally like my fully built ls/vtec and wouldn't go any other way but that is my opinion.

Also FYI, my 93 si coupe LS/VTEC with stock GSR cams, gsr head, ls rods w/arp bolts and B16 pistons ran 14.4 in the 1/4 and my buddies H22 hatch ran about the same, both on street rubber just to give you an idea of what you'd run. Keep in mind that different tracks will be quicker/slower, this track sucked and the cars both could have ran quicker with better track conditions.
