I will be unemployed at the end of this week.
im excited (and probably the only person in this country wanting this)

but, after sep 19th, i will be hitting the road and going west.
no particular reason other than i want too. just going and seeing new places and meeting new people.
the only plan i have is to be heading south then west, to stay in the warmer climate of things, going through texas and whatnot.
ultimately i will end up on the west coast. i have never been to cali, and while i know that i wouldnt want to live there, i would like to see it before it breaks into civil war/ disappears into the ocean.

no plans, no clue exactly where i am going. but i dont plan on parking my car unprotected. i think i may find a storage unit or something of the sort to keep the car while im in the city. havnt decided.

i will be packing a tent and some small things, so i can camp out if i decide to stay somewhere for a few days or more.

any of the californians on here have any advice about the place? im not so worried about texas or the other states because i have been there before. main thing im nervous about is having the integra stolen while in cali.

but, if anybody wants to meet up, hang out, maybe offer a couch for a night or two (just tossing it out there), or some odd job or two to make a little bit of cash, let me know, i have no def route planned out or anything, just going into the unknown.

why dont you come north east instead. there are more couches to crash on.

honestly, the west sucks.

the plan is to stay in the teg while traveling, but if i find a city that i feel like staying in for a few days im going to find a campsite if there arent any couches anywhere.

north may be next. have some family up there, and wouldnt mind meeting a few of you guys.

just never been west, went to oregon and washington before, but didnt get to see anything.

lol, the beach. the people. theres always something to see.
i wont be staying long, so dont worry too much.

i'll probably go north at some point, just for the historical value that is up that way.

take plenty of pics man. sounds like it would be fun. taking anyone with ya?

make sure you take plenty of tools in case your car breaks down.

Hell I'm about to be be unemployed too (once again)

And just so happens I'm heading North for a lil while. Plan for me is to go to SC, visit the family, fuck some bitches etc.

Good luck on your journey dude. Hope you get the most out of it.

i have all of my tools in my trunk at all times.
also, will have my xti with me at all times too.

nobody going with me that i know of yet.
doubt anybody will, only a few people that i could stand to be around for that much time. and they all want a stable job more than adventuring.

Find a way to profit off of this. Like write a book or take some good pics and try to sell them.

Good luck with the trip.

awesome - huge  for your roadtrip. PM me when you're around AZ. no guarantees, but if no one else is using it when you're in the area, you can couch flop for a little while.

pictures are the plan. writing something may come out of it, dunno yet. its a trip to learn a lot about myself and other places.

what parts of CA you plan on heading to? i'm borderline southern/central CA

as far as car security.. might wanna look into one of these
DENVER WHEEL TIRE BOOT LOCK lawn tractor police cart:eBay Motors (item 120460467944 end time Sep-17-09 14:12:23 PDT)

lol, the boot may be a good idea, but i think it may make it more apt to be stolen, they see that, and think that nobody is coming for it, so take it.

but i'll be in a lot of cali. thinking about starting in the LA area, then up to san fran. whereabouts are you?

i will def be taking you up on that if its available. what part of az are you in? and how close to the heart attack grill? lol.

Southern california is a shit hole of a desert. Nothing to see there. Definitely hit hollywood, palm springs, san francisco, and then head north. Far north. Absolutely gorgeous country up there.. Shasta Lake is amazing. Of course hit the beaches, do some fishing.. Surfing if you can afford it, etc. The mountains/forests of northern california will take your breath away.. And give you some fun driving roads to boot.

Skip over arizona. Holy shit is that some horrible middle of nowhere desert driving. There is nothing to see. Except the grand canyon, which is just a giant hole in the ground. That is the main attraction of arizona. Of course, you must hit vegas on your way through Nevada. This is required or you hand in your man card.

Stay the fuck away from the mexico border. Unless you have a few friends with you and a piece of shit car to travel in.

In Texas, stay in austin for a few days.. Attend some festivals. Amazing city... Full of culture and music and art... They embrace the small businesses and eateries.. Probably my favorite town in Texas. The people are different there.

Houston is beautiful. Great zoo there as well. Dallas/fort worth.. I dunno.. Been through each 100 times each, and have never been wowed. Except for the museums.

vegas is def a must, my aunt lives there, im going to try and crash with her for a few days. and im most likely going to at least see the grand canyon, hell, who knows how long it will be before im out that way again.
northern cali will have to be added to the list i guess, thanks for the tip.

but, i expect the desert to be very dull, i just worry about running out of gas, so, i guess i'll be stopping very frequently just in case its the last chance.

when i have the extra cash i plan on buying a boot.. only for when i travel to San Diego and stay at a buddies house.. (he had his GSR stolen from in front of the house)

but i'm about 1.5 hrs north of LA and about 3.5 hrs south of Frisco
