A minime is a d16 head on a d15 block. The 16 head on the 15 block raises the compression. You'll need a d16y8 head from a civic ex, solenoid, a y8 ecu and run wires to the ecu for vtec.
 
You also need Y8 injectors and also a Y8 intake manifold, throttle body, and IACV if the car is a 5 speed.
 
Are you saying you currently have a d16y7 and want vtec on it or that you are putting a d16 head on your current motor?

What's the difference between these two things? Either way, he's going to need a VTEC head...

i got what you need in my garage tons of y-8 parts including head and block injectors fuel rail for y-8 head and intake mani and throttle body pm me if interested.thx bro..
