Well they are changing ownership here soon aren't they? I have used TPB maybe a handful of times. I usually stick to Demonoid and that's about it.

D'noid usually has the safest torrents, but you get way more peers/seeds if you use Torrentz.com and get all the trackers from multiple sites.

That company that was announcing that they were purchasing TPB, Global Gaming something or other, is being investigated for some kind of fraud, turns out they announced their pending purchase to spark a rise in their share price.

They never planned to purchase it, they released false information to manipulate their stock prices.

Even though it's completely understandable, the fact that the TPB folks were willing to sell out has done irreparable damage to their credibility now that they're 'back'.

I have never understood the mentality of getting all fired up about someone 'selling out'. Whats the point of creating a business if you are not going to attempt to turn a profit? The same goes with 'indie' bands. Now granted, TPB made all of its money off of other peoples works but you know what I mean.

They were viewed as the champions of the copyright reform movement. The Pirate party has 2 seats in the EU right now mainly because of their efforts. Not entirely their efforts, but they're certainly the rallying point for the whole movement due to their open defiance of current practice. It would be like Ben Franklin deciding he likes the King of England all of a sudden.

I dont know if I would go that far. From what I have read, it was just a group of guys that threw the whole thing together and that was that. Others simply turned into a rally point for their movement. I mean really all they have done at TPB was tell the MPAA and RIAA no. And the reasoning behind that is they are in Sweden and didnt think that anyone would actually come after them.
