Hello all. Just tryin to introduce myself and get to know a few people. Im fm oklahoma in a little town called paden. Now that weve been introduced my first question is did i get a decent deal on the 93 del sol i just purchased.

Ok so i purchased a 1993 Honda del sol yesterday car has 205000 motor is the original d16z6 mated to a 5-speed everything is grand on the car except a speaker cover missing on driver door, dent in pass rear panel above tire nothing major, paint is faded on trunk and hood you know the usual spots, and the motor has a horrible knock to it. Only aftermarket thing on the car is a 3in stainless catback greddy exhaust. All rite now that you know what is goin on i gave 800 dollars ^_^ for this car, did i get ripped or is it a decent price. Im happy with the price just kinda wondering from anothers standpoint.

Next thing is i pretty sure its a spun rod bearing from the noise but wont know until its home and apart. I am mechanically inclined and am not scared of tearing it apart. If it is spun bearing am i better off rebuilding what i have or just finding a used motor in salvage and then redoing mine. I have no specific plans laid out for this car just a dependable DD for now then maybe a bolt on turbo kit or sumthin as money comes in. I appreciate all the advice and knowledge. Thanks to everyone in advance and hopefully get to make some good friends along the way.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I say swap in a B-series. GSR if you have the cash, LS if you have more of a budget.

$1000 ls swap
$1000 paint and body

=$2800 swapped del sol.

sweet deal if you do it right.

i love where that is going. if you wanna sell the del sol again for 800 ill drive up there and take it off your hands :) its only a 4 hour drive.
