Hey everyone, I'm new here and tried the search but it didn't quite answer what I needed.
I have a 91 civic hatch si with a d16a6 mini swap on it already with rpm switch and stock ecu. This has a bad body.
The good shell I have it a 92 hatch, so I'd like to make one good car out of the 2.
Does anyone know if:
- The motor will fit in stock mounts?
- Axles fit?
- How much wiring will need to be done?

I can see that ones hydraulic and other it cable clutch, but is the swap even worth the hassle.
Thanks

How bad is the body of the 91? Might be advantagous to forgo the swap, and invest in body work for the SI. You should be able to fetch a good price for the EG shell as it's still a popular platform.

the d16a6 will bolt up to a hydro trans.
cable trans in eg = not worth it.
the driver side mount should be changed if it is angled.
the D16a6 block is almost identical to d16z6 block.
if you had an EX\SI hydro trans, it would be a good swap.

Sell the 91 if its in good enough shape and get a complete z6 swap for the eg. They are cheap and easily found from people that have swapped a up to a b series.

Use the harness, mounts, mount brackets, transmission, and axles that go with the year car your putting the A6 into. Putting a A6 into a 92-95 civic is much simpilar than puttin one into a 96-00. Then you have to swap out the A6 oil pump for a Y7/Y8 so you have a the CKP sensor and dont throw a code.

I don't think so...Just swap out the drivers mount bracket, bolt it up to the EG trans, use the stock EG engine harness, wire for VTEC, then put in a P28 ECU.

ah, my fault. Teach me from makin early morning posts.
BUT, it's a 92, so it's already wired for VTEC

To the engine bay at least. If he gets a haness for a z6 then it will be plug and play for the vtec.
