holy shit. /me registers at community college library.

The wife is using the RC they were giving licenses away for and windows 7 is amazing. im gonna be so happy when it becomes more readily available.

I am loving it so far, my only complaint is with my motherboard's SATA controller compatability, but I was meaning to upgrade sooner than later anyway.

Yeah, registered/preordered this last week. :)

Looks like my brother and mom will be registering. My mom works for a school district.

hmmm.. the fiance works for the high school district

Which edition is it though?

EDIT: Nevermind, it doesn't matter. :)

Wikipedia:
According to Microsoft, the features for all editions of Windows 7 will be stored on the machine, regardless of what edition is in use. Users who wish to upgrade to an edition of Windows 7 with more features can then use Windows Anytime Upgrade to purchase the upgrade, and unlock the features of those editions.

There will be cracks out for that in no time.

Even though it's cheap will it even be worth it?? Are we certain we won't have another flop from Microcrap

I have been running Win. 7 RC1 since release more or less and have not had a single problem. I have it on my Acer Aspire ONE, and my desktop which is a home built system. Neither of which have had any issues. I am really excited for Win 7.

my wife's been running it on her computer (the RC) and i had it on mine for a few days (my computer is a piece) and really no issues. If you're running it on a Sempron 2600+ w/ an ATI 9200SE and 512M of RAM, its not going to be as fast as XP without a few tweaks.

If you run it on a ($450) AMD 5000+ with an nVidia 7800GT and 4GB of ram it will run beautifully and i dare you to say its slower, more annoying or less secure than XP.

Windows 7 is unbelievably better than vista and nearly as good as XP. Hell with a few extra tweaks i think it could be better than XP in speed and power utilization.

I cannot register a .edu the same way i can't register a .gov or .mil. ICANN still over-sees these TLDs, but there are much more restrictions to getting them other than ordering them from godaddy.

I've grown tired of trying to pirate OS's if I want to fuck around with an os then its going to be a linux distro. It just don't want to deal with that shit when all I want to do is check hondaswap and fapp to hot ladies.

Win7 has been the OS on my main PC for several months now; I must admit it's working really well.

I couldn't wait, so downloaded a bootleg Windows 7U. It's VERY nice and fast! That being said, I've already pre-ordered the Pro edition.

I'm looking forward to seeing W7 ... I pre-ordered mine in like July from tigerdirect..i totally forgot about it until this thread
