hi all, i about to start doing a b18a into my 91 eg civic it is curently a 1.5 twin carb with the d15b, i have just purhcased a 92 integra with the b18a so i should all parts i need. now i little concered about wiring, i pretty sure the engine will bolt in, if i use the front hubs and shafts etc from the integra.
any help will be great. thanks, will the tank from integra fit into civic? integra is 8/92 if that helps my civic is eg4

ok from reading a bit, it looks like i will need a mount kit? and also that my 91 eg civic with twin carb 1.5 is obd 1 as it has a oxygen sensor, and i do belive that the b18a from 92 integra is also obd1 as well, so that part should be fairly simple yes? no i know i need to change fuel line and add a pump, i thinking either change tank from integra to civic if it fits, or fit a inline fuel pump, which is fairly straight foward.

but yeah just the wiring i worried about. being a mechanic(plant) i have no problem changing the engine etc etc and making that work. it just the wiring, going from a carby car to injected car

my plans are later down the track once engine conversion is done is to fit a gt28rs roller bearing turbo to a nicely built engine. once i happy with the conversion. i went with the b18a as i got a full car running and all for 400 au dollars as well. so pretty happy with that, and my current engine is getting on a bit with 354000k's.. shows you how good honda is hey. still original engine with no work being done well major work, and original box as well.

like they say keep clean air fuel and oil in them and they go for ever..

i also dont really care about not having vtech. i looked at a b16a but way to much money..,

cheers any help would be great will get some pictures up later tonight

this will be my first engine swap in a honda. done one before 1uz in hj45 land cruiser and kept 4wd.. and also kept the auto.

played around a lot with toyota 1jz and nissan sr20's so thought time to give honda ago, i must say that the nissan sr20s are hopeless for big end bearings, but the 1jz are very very strong design. i was pushing close to 500rwhp from stock engine, and only bolt ons. cheers
thanks mick

and before anyone says search i have , and found nothing in relating to fitting a b18 into a carby eg. hench why my post. thanks..

On top of not being in the right forum, eg was from 92-95, putting a new motor has minimum bearing based on the old one in the car, its just different wiring and such. Thus, if you go to the right forum, you will find your answers. I think there is an active thread on the subject atm too.

I was under the impression that 91's would be an EF...but none the less, if you are changing from a dual carb, its honestly more work than its worth. Of the top of my head, you have to

Carb to Fuel Injection = no easy task
obd0 to obd1 = use a harness
after that, the right ecu, more wiring, blah blah blah.

I just know that switching from carb to fi is a wiring nightmare
better off to sell the car and get a cheap EG shell and put the motor in there. Much less headache.

yheah i just checked the compliance plate, car is built 12/91.

now i pretty sure my car is obo . and 92 integra is obo1

i was going to maybe run 2 ecu, ie the one that come with b18a and then leave origianl one in the car. and piggy back wires like, ignition tacho. etc is that possible? problem is i have the car all ready and i picked up a complete 92 integra for 400 aussie dollars. full car. now the work is not a problem. as i a plant mechanic. so pulling spanners is easy.. just the wiring. i not sure off.

spoilt, where are you from?? if you not in US that would explain your 91 eg dual carb unless u shipped your car here and just remember a build date is not the model year unless it says 91 on your title

i also noticed that i have no front mount or cross member that run under the car, i have one mount on left and right of car, one at fire wall and one near a/c compressor

yeah it can b done your gonna need a different fuel tank one for fuel injection unless the teggi is carbed+all the fuel injection wiring ecu

In Japan the EG was made like 91-1998 or something like that. EF is 87-90 or 91. Just like you could buy a 2003 RX-7.

or here what i think buy obo to obo1 conversion harness, use the full loom engine loom from the tegg, plug patch harness into my carby on and then the ecu from the teg into it. hopefully i can use the fuel tank from 92 teg, will they bolt in? or i use inline fuelpump and wiring to suit. should just wire in aftermarket ecu and be done with it, like microtech and be done with it.

will get pics of my car, as it is. and then when i get donor car this weekend. does the rear disc brake from teg fit civic?

Looks like you will have better luck on a forum run by your own country unless somebody here knows a thing or two about this...

Just saying...
I did a google search and could find people who have done it but no details. Just keep looking, something will pop up.

no worrie thanks, yeah i on oz honda. been done but no one can give details. apparently you change the dash harness and the under dash fuse pannel as well

Integra and civic are compatible knuckle/trailing arm wise, but I think you want to stick with swapping from another EG, or EK, or integra DC, that would be 92-2000 here. Why not get the fuel system (and dash harness/engine harness) from a fuel injected EG, or is that what the donor is? You have any bone yards near you?
