Lots of good info in there.

Unfortunately I don't foresee this thing not getting ramrodded down our throats one way or another.

The vast majority of people just read this whole proposal as "free health care for me" without really thinking about it.

As someone who has dealt with a very serious illness in the family, I can honestly see both sides of the issue. We would have loved to have "free health care" so to speak, and not have had to spend 10 grand out of pocket over the course of a couple years. At the same time, our ability to seek out multiple opinions and get the best possible care is an option we may not have had under a different system. You could never put a price on that.

Whats odd about the baucus plan is that NEITHER the far right or the far left support the bill. It will raise costs for everyone in America while failing to "reform" healthcare. I'd rather have a single payer system than this baucus plan.

... And i'd rather have nothing pass than see a single payer system pass.

healthcare reform is a joke and a complete waste of time and money. period.

I think everyone in America is beginning to see things this way. This is wonderful. Its nice to see people finally waking up to the liberal agenda of this administration.

Just ask a Canadian. They don't like their healthcare system. Sure it's "free" but there is a huge waiting line for care and a lot of them defect to U.S. soil and risk punishment to use our healthcare system.

This health care reform bill is a joke. The fact that a president is forcing through legislation that has not been carefully thought out, simply to make good on his "promise" and fulfill his agenda is criminal. If ever a Bush hater commented on the war being criminal, they should comment on indiscriminate spending by an overzealous president.

A budget was not even constructed for this plan until the finance oversight committee was requested to construct the budget two weeks ago. Politicians were already ready to cast their votes without even knowing an estimated cost associated with this bill. These politicians that were about to vote on the bill without knowing the cost, should be drug out back and beat. They are simply not being responsible with taxpayer money. This is the portion that makes myself furious. Fuck the politicians, they have no problem fucking the public.

Health care reform is not a joke. In a litigious society, doctors have been sued ridiculous amounts for malpractice. As a result of these habits, malpractice insurance is through the roof.

Drug companies have a corner on the market and charge insane premiums because of supply and demand.

Insurance companies charge insane premiums because of the above two factors.

A change to the system needs to be made, the problem is that the changes that need to be made, are not the changes that are being discussed.

Rather than acknowledging that certain individuals in society will not be covered, unless the rest of society picks up the tab, and working to better programs for the majority of people, the current health care reform will be a costly failure. This plan is aimed at being all things to all people. Any success company knows they cannot be all things to all people. We should not need to cater to those that cannot find themselves gainful employment and find themselves without coverage.

The overall plan should be to take care of the masses at a moderate cost as opposed to covering all of society at absorbent costs.

I guess the fact that he's black doesn't matter as much anymore. Everyone seems to hate this guy as much as Bush.

His approval rating is still phenomenal.

Wait another year and until unemployment touches 11% as predicted. I'm surprised the right hasn't pounded the issue more that Obama's aides that toted the TARP stimulus plan said unemployment would not rise above 9 or 9.5% at max.

The republican party saves its ammo for election year . . . . every election year.
