i heard that to get a few more hp out of my d16z6 that i could bolt a d16y8 intake manifold because it flows better and a b series throttle body because its 60mm as aposed to 57. is this true?

Yes, but not by much. It's probably not worth your time to adapt the Y8 manifold when there are other easier things to do- like add a header. I think you said you had an intake and exhaust in the other thread, right?

ive done pretty much all i can do before internals or forced induction, i got cold air intake, header, exhaust, chipped ecu, any tricks left ?

Custom tune. Run uberdata and tune the car well for premium gas. You'd be surprised how much extra power you can get with a proper dyno and street tune, especially considering that your engine's original fuel map was for 87 octane and not 91 or 93. The chipped program that you're running isn't going to be ideal for your mix of parts or your area's climate anyway.

If you go with internals or forced induction, you'll have to custom tune your car anyway, so you might as well start now.

Oh- you might want to look into an aftermarket cam for your car. They're relatively easy to install, and can net pretty significant power gains depending on how aggressive you go. Zex and Crower make pretty good ones.

yea but a cam for a d series sems real expensive for relative gains ive done a little research tho, but ill look into the additional tuning, i usually run 93 octane but wasnt aware of the factor basemap being based on the fuel

Cam gears are nice, aem and unorthodox racing make some nice cheap 1's worth some money... Also you could try diffrent spark plugs and wires, i've seen some HP gain with them, another thing is try an underdrive pully... just some ideas as well... total u mite pick up 10 WHP if that

Cheaper than a good catback exhaust... and higher gains too.

If you're not running a fuel/timing map built for 93 octane gas, then you're just wasting your money at the pump.

You make them yourself. They're what your ECU uses to control your engine.

been lookin how to make these and cant find any good info on them. most places have the info for street bikes but not on cars. any idea how to make'em myself?

Read up on the forums.

1. get an ECU setup you can tune
2. go tune the car

Those are the steps- performing them takes a LOT of practice.
