at first i thought it was a light under a piece of ice, then it started flaming. im going to have to say its a hunk of glass with water around the sides of it.

Why would you post this stupid bullshit B? we all know ice is flammable...

Id believe it if they picked it up and rotated it, so you could see through the 2 uncovered sides. Looked pretty cool though.

I think it could be possible if they could heat the ice fast enough, since water is hyrdogen bonded, and has a relatively high heat, if they can heat it fast enough, then it may get red hot faster than the heat will absorb, causing the state change.

What little consensus there is on youtube leans towards there being an imbedded piece of metal, a bolt or some such. The demo is supposed to show that this furnace can heat the metal to a high temperature without directly heating the ice...which is what induction furnaces -do- after all.

makes sense

Looked to me like a glowing light, then either water vapor or ice fog coming off of the ice block was illuminated, simulating flames.

remember kids, this man knows about ice.

FAIL...not real. Speculate all you want. Ice does not heat up until glowing red, catch fire, and still retain it's shape...That shit would explode...

That's what I was thinking.

I told you guys already. Its fucking black magic voodoo. Your precious science knows nothing of the dark arts.
