Hi,
In an attempt to raise my B20B compression I thought about using a thinner headgasket.

The one I actually have is a 3 layer oem gasket, since I have the P3F Pistons, I have a very low compression motor.
What if I change the headgasket by a 1 layer headgasket?

Would that work? The Compression Calculator located here.

Tells me that I would raise my comp from 8.86 to 9.16, is it worth it?
What kind of gain should I expect?

The car is a 1991 Integra 2 doors with a 1997 CR-V engine in it (Its autotragic also) I plan on swapping the tranny next spring.

I'm also open to any basics mods that could increase the responsiveness of my engine and its power.

I have the whole winter to gather funds so if you have any suggestions I'm all ears!

Thank you.

It's not worth the cost/effort for the .3 gain in compression. For example, the US b18c1 (gsr) is rated at 170 hp. The JDM b18c (gsr), is 180hp. The only difference is that the jdm motor has .5 higher compression. Based on that, you might be lucky to see 5 hp at the crank by changing to that thinner gasket.

Save your money for an ITR transmission. The short gearing coupled with an LSD will really wake up the car.

Any idea how much they run for these days?

$600-1000. They arn't cheap. You can also get a b16 or gsr transmission and install an aftermarket lsd. I'm guessing that might actually end up costing a bit more.
