So I'm listening to the radio on the way home, flipping through the stations. Ended up on some pop station, and heard two songs in a row: Beyonce's 'Halo' and Kelly Clarkson's 'Already Gone'. A few seconds into the second song I noticed that they sounded exactly the same. They were in the same key, had the same chord progression, and almost the same tempo. Got home and looked them up:
Halo

Already Gone
Kelly Clarkson

From Wikipedia:
So I put the two songs together to show how close they both are. There are a few examples of people trying to do this on Youtube, but frankly their attempts all suck. I've overlaid the two songs and synced the tempos pretty much perfectly... it's attached here.
Take a listen and tell me these aren't the exact same damn songs:

From Wikipedia:
He worked with Kelly Clarkson on her 2009 album All I Ever Wanted, penning the song "Already Gone," as well as with Beyonce on her album I Am… Sasha Fierce, penning the song "Halo." The similarity between the songs "Already Gone" and "Halo" has prompted Clarkson to publicly state that she did not know about Halo and that both songs were co-written by Tedder.
Controversy around the sale of the same musical track to two pop musicians Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson, and the subsequent almost simultaneous release of their singles including it, Halo and Already Gone, respectively, arose in July 2009. Ryan Tedder cowrote both of the songs that cite similarities.
