well i have an e-gay turbo as of now. it makes good power, but its a leaky sonofa bitch! so its just about time for another one. any ideas on a new one? its a t3/t4. might go a little bigger because when i have my air filter on it only goes to about 15 lbs. of boost. wich for dd perposes is fine. when i run no filter its almost to fast...... so figure if i get a slightly larger turbo then i can leave on the filter and still hit my 18-19psi limit. i hoope this make sense. well lets get sopme input and links& prices.

What do you have on there now? you'll need to keep the same family or you'll need a new manfiold and possibly a downpipe.

I'd recommend something in the Garrett GT line if you have some cash.
If not, look into a 'Netics t3/t4 or a Garret Journal bearing 57 or 60 trim. If this is a street car, a 60 trim t3/t4 should do ya just fine.

"63 trim t3/t4" i could be wrong but i believe this is what i have as of now. its making power still but it smokes like a dam train. guy at my local shop. he built my engine&mani&down pipe for me and tunes my car said he could get me a new borg warnner for about 600 bucks. wish i could rebuild my egay turbo. that thing has held up ok for the amount of shit i have thrown at it.

besides its easier to replace a cheap turbo than it is an expensive one, just because you spend a lot on it dont mean it cant break

If you're looking for cheap performance a BW or Holset turbocharger will suit you just fine. Look into an HX35 or HY35 if you value low/mid range power.

IMHO, you get what you pay for in this hobby. Trust me, I've had eGay parts and name brand stuff, there is a difference in quality. Also, if you have a question on something with your turbocharger, say the oil restrictor, you can't call Ping-Pong way over in China and ask him. With a quality brand, you have that re-assurance. IMO, that alone is worth it.

Good choice. Do it right the first time, or don't do it at all. Don't get me wrong, name brand stuff does break. Not nearly as often as I have seen eGay stuff go down the tubes though.

I am a firm believer of if it works then screw the brand name, but so far I have had no luck with the ebay turbo crap and the same holds true with my friends (multiple with turbo'd honda's and dsm's). I do know a guy in town making 462 whp on an ebay turbo in an h22 crx though. We'll see how long it lasts.
 
well...... going to get an e-gay turbo. just to get me buy untill i order a good one. its only $118 for the same one i have on there now. and that way i wont stress on getting pulled over evfery time i pass a cop with white smoke pouring out the back of my car.
 
So you wouldn't be able to 'rebuild' yours?

If it's just seals, I'm sure you could get the dims and order some.

If you can have the car down for a few days, pull it off and soak the center section in Diesel fuel or kerosene and see if the seals swell enough to run it another month or so.

Just a thought.

no, think i will just spend $118 on one the same e-gay one for now then i will up grade top a larger turbo.
