trans in my g/f ek is toast picked up a trans at japan power in ottawa off a d15 is what they told me. will it fit with out any probs? it has numbers on it would that help identify what i got better? was 300$ and needed one bad. firts 3 gears in hers sound like there going to explode!! even sounds bad at idle like it chewing it up inside idling unless you push in the clutch and stop it from turning inside.

anyway I read that it should work on several threads and I'm attempting to replace it today. even if it works i wouldn't mind knowing what the gearing is in it and so forth.

numbers on trans S20-1568641

Every d series trans will fit. Just longer gears, so less "pull."

BTW, your from Ottawa? I found a honda buddy :D

No sorry not from ottawa. I am from North bay. Was just there 2 days for GM training.

can you tell me where I could get what trans have what gearing. and less pull wouldn't bug me I jsut don't want more pull with higher highway rpm for mpg's

someday would be nice to H22 it but for now it's daily driver!!

casting marks say p20/b0000 & 5/18

help with gearing?

Yeah what he said, just put it in. I've never heard of someone having a transmission from any D series not bolt up directly to replace a tranny from another D. Now, listen up- REPLACE THE REAR MAIN AND TRANSMSISSION FRONT SEAL WHILE YOU'RE IN THERE. I write that in caps because you are a fool if you do not. It takes an extra 30 mins to do them while you have the tranny out, or you can redo the whole 20 hour job later if one of them develops a leak. The seals only cost like $15 for both of them. Absolutely replace those seals.
Also, whole you have the exhaust downpipe off already, it's a good time to do the oil pan gasket too. Just need the gasket and a tube of Hondabond.

sorry the pictures are crap quality just used my camara phone.

didn't bother trans just has to last a 1-2 years max. then I want to upgrade. it's not a 20 hour job. did it in 3 hours 1 hour at a time on my lunches at work "including making it mobile and pushing it in and out 3 times. also didn't have to take off the down pipe.

JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT GEARING THE ONE I GOT IS THATS ALL!!! thanks for the concern.

job is done and even took apart the old trans and found the input shaft bearing completly gone.
