Ok sorry if this is the wrong thread anyhow my son got a 91 Civic with not sure now I am a Tug Capt and I am out on the boat so all I have is a pic he sent me and a crappy one at that.
I figured maybe some of you Honda experts out there could see the crappy pic and tell me weather this is a Carb or FI. I am not sure after reading about guy saying that the DPFI looks like a carb so figured I would get you guys to look at the pic and see if you can tell. The reason I am also asking is it is smoking black on accel so figured maybe rings or valve seals no problem but figured SWAP but have to figure out what it is and how much work I am looking at converting stuff.

Sorry for the long rant here is the pic

Thanks again first post of many I love working on stuff and love Honda heck even my bike is Honda Valkyrie flat 6

Thanks for the help:D

it is DPFI (Dual Point Fuel Injection with 2 fuel injectors on the front of the throttle body) - MPFI is Multi Point Fuel Injection which has 4 injectors with 1 injector feeding directly into each cylinder - could be either a D15B1 or D15B2 - D15B1 came in the STD model with 4-speed transmission - D15B2 came in the DX model

^^ definatly what he said i have the same car. dpfi d15b1 or 2. tell him to look for the stamp on the front of the motorby where the motor and trans come together and that should tell him exactly what motor it is

Hey Thanks guys sorry again if this is the wrong place for this well should be a b2 I guess since it is a 5 speed again thanks now come the scheming on what to do  . Since it is smoking somewhat have to figure out what swap we want to do there are alot of options from what I have been reading !!! Thanks again

i just did one on my 91 and i did a d15b2, one of those 35k mile motors. got the motor for $375 everything went in no problems. its the easiest thing you can do unless your lookin for hp then theres a ton of options for you
