New guy here, I have used this site's reference materials in the past and found them to become very helpful. I have decided I would make an account and start contributing! However, I have some questions of my own I need answered.

To start, I bought a B18B1 for $40 a while back. Had the cylinders ball honed and the block decked. It had a junk crank so I am waiting on the machine shop to call me on a price for a remanned one. I ordered a bottom end kit from them as well. The kit includes new rings, bearing, thrust washers, pistons and wrist pins. They torqued my mains for me as well as mic'd my rods so they can size my bearings.

As for the head, I am waiting on manifolds before I send it to them. It will be getting pressure tested, milled, ported and polished, and obviously gasket matched. I'm not sure what year Integra this motor came out of, main reason I brought that point up is I didn't know if it mattered if the motor was in an OBD1 or 2 car.

The transmission I just bought today for $125. It is out of an LS DA (the sticker claims it is an A1 tranny - so it is cable)... the guy included my axles, shift linkage, cables, and pedal assembly. He also included a PR4 ECU.

The car is a 1994 Honda Civic LX sedan. So the car is OBD1 and currently has the stock D15B7 with a hydro 5 speed transmission. The tranny has no 4th gear, and has a constant slight grind, but I paid $450 for the car and drove it home so I'd say I'm doing pretty good!

QUESTIONS

1 Will the stock ECU or the PR4 mentioned above work with this setup?

2 How hard is it to convert hydro to cable; and what all is involved in that?

3 Are there any components that may need to be replaced - I.E. injectors, dizzy, and etc? I didn't know if certain ECU's may call for something other than what I have.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

**The only aftermarket parts that are going to be on this motor are a Skunk2 Pro-Series intake manifold, an eBay header, a larger diameter throttle body, and intake. It may see boost eventually. Thought this info. may be useful as well.

Your car is obd1 so staying obd1 will be the easiest and less complicated. Not that converting is hard though.

The pedal assembly won't work because on the hydro tranny cars, the clutch pedal is separate, as where the DA/Cable style pedal assemblies are all one unit. You can use the DA axles as long as you use the DA intermediate shaft along with them. I don't know if the DA linkage will work in your car so I won't speak on it...

1)If I remember correctly, the pr4's are obd0 and the LS ecu you're looking for to stay obd1 is the p75.

2)It's not hard to convert to hydro. There are kits available. Hit up HaSport or Innovative.

3)As long as the components match the obd of the ecu, you're good to go.

I had an EBay knock off ITR header and it held up decent but others have had problems with theirs cracking at the welds. So just be careful when getting EBay products.
