im wanting to take the whole front end from a 92-95 civic to my 89 rex. are the dimensions the same as far as width and would the radiator support fit between the front frame? also are the curves on the back of the fenders and hood the same or would i have to graft them together? any help would be appreciated.

i kinda like the look of the 92-95 civic better than the 88-91 civic/crx... plus ive never seen it done before

Have you really thought about this? You're talking about taking the front end of a car that's newer and rounder and slapping it onto a car that's older and more boxy. Why do you think this is going to look good? It won't, it will look exactly like what it will be, a bastard half Civic / half CR-X.

If you want a car that looks like a 92-95 Civic, then BUY A 92-95 CIVIC...

I put a 1998 civic front end on a CRX once. I liked it. Sort of.

The EG front ends look like complete ass though, like a geo or something. Why would you want THAT front end?? Do an RSX conversion or something worth a damn.

Or, don't do it at all, that would be the best.

Yeah dont rape a perfectly good CRX, the Honda Gods will be very upset with you if you commit such blaspheme.

Ive saw it done before. I have to admit it was kinda cool, but even with the hours, and hours the guy had into it everything was kinda off. It looked good for about 20 feet away but up close. the hood, and half half fenders. corner lenses. bumper. they just don't mesh that well. EG rounded kinda, and EF almost boxed. round, and square don't go together. well they do with hours of wasted time, and ricer like body work. lol

Omg I fucking hate conversions!!!!! Their sooooooo GAY!!!!

you only thought it looked good because of the amount of time you had invested the only sonversion i liked was the ek front on a del sol looks like it should be there as they are both have similar curves

alright guys thanks for the input. once i thought about it i decided not to do it because lets face it, it really wont look that great. so once again thanks for the input.

I used the EF fenders, and hammered them out/cut them to fit the headlights. So most the body and front end remained the same shape. I used the hood , headlights, and front bumper from the 98, and it did look huge on the CRX. I bet I have a picture buried somewhere.. I'll have to dig it up.

Bah, this is all I've got left, and its pixelated ass. :(

Looking back, it does look ridiculous. Some mugen side skirts would have blended it nicely, though..

The grille was just a piece of aluminum riveted into place. I bought an ebay "mugen" grille and it looked like total ass, so I slapped the aluminum in place. I'm going to have to dig through backup disks to find more shots of it.. I know I have a ton, but that is the only one I have on this computer.
