B16A top speed?

I have a B16A swap with the S21 transmission in my 93 DX right now. I was wondering if anyone knew what it's top cruising speed is around. The reason I ask is because when I get to about 60 mph, the engine sounds like its running at a really high rpm in 5th gear (I don't have a tach in the car because it's a sedan and i have yet to buy a dash with one in it). I know that the B16 has a low speed transmission but is it really that low? i appreciate any help

i remember when i had a b16 i would cruise at about 75 mph on the hwy, i want to say it was around 4000 rpms at that point, but its been years so my memory could be off.

close but its around more like 4500 rpms. If I hit 80 or more I'm already in vtec. I'm always double checkin wat gear I'm in cuz of the high rpms..

My setup had the JDM SiR2 transmission- not sure if it was an S21 or not. I ran 4400rpm at 80mph in 5th gear- and did that for 45k miles in one year immediately after building the engine. It came apart with the rings (all but one) and bearings looking like new. It was meticulously built... and a factory condition build should hold up just fine like that too.

hi guys i think top speed depends on weight hp and esp gearing of the trannny for example i ran 230 km/u in my 125hp crx (ed9,D16Z5) at 7krpm my cous ran 240 in his 150jp crx vtec (ee8,B16A1) @ 8k rpm. so... i hope it answers ur q really depends on many factors

at 70 your just below 4k at 80 your about 4200-4400RPM.

B16 tranny is really short but the b16a dosent make any power untill 5k lol so its perfect for the b16a.

I topped mine out a 143mph @ 8500rpm on the Autobahn. At 100mph you should be right at 5500rpm in 5th, so 60-80 should be around 4000-5000ish.

143 is pretty crazy..
my car still has the stupid speed governor that cuts me off at 115mph, but yet... I'm kinda happy its still there to regulate my ass when I feel like driving like a maniac
