1991 Civic LX. 163,000 origional KMS. D15B2 runs sooo very smooth after tune-up. 5 speed trans has a grinding noise so we'll probaly pop in a Si trans. It gets wicked gas mileage but its too damn slow.

He just bought a Civic Si style muffler w/twin tips.

And we're building a MPFI D16Y7 for it. :)

Carnage...spun and destroyed two bearings. When we took it apart it was connecting rod against crank, no bearings inbetween. :eek:o

Connecting rods were overheated, tempering was lost and they cracked, ready to break.

Ass ton of carbon but very clean walls.

Head is very, very clean and we're rebuilding the Y7 block with new bearings, rings, oil pump with D16A6 con-rods and crank. Re-useing the headgasket, water pump and timing belt, all are in super great shape. D16A6 intake and exhaust manifolds are going to be used with a Si dizzy and PM6 ECU.

your gonna re-use the timeing belt?
Yes sir. It was just done by Honda maybe 9,000 miles ago. Looks like new.

Block is done and parts are arriving on the 16th. Block is cleaned and honed. D16A6 crank is cleaned and polished. And the D16Y7 pistons have been pressed onto the D16A6 rods.

Next we'll bore out a oil pump as much as we can then assembal. :)

Oh, and we're useing a '91 Si trans with a re-surfaced flywheel and Exedy stage 1 clutch.

another clean ass honda? wtf!!! you get one more and im coming to canada and burning your fucking house down... lmao i hate you dude.

Block is back. $575 after labour and parts.

Polished A6 crank (Its just oil on the journals, they shine like a mirror)

Looks to be a good build, Why did you decide to go with the Y7 block? Keep it up to date, I love the 4G4ds.
We went with the Y7 block so we wouldn't have to bore out the scratched A6 block and buy bigger pistons.

The Y7 block it self is the same as any other D16 block. Where the differences are is in the crank and oil pump. If you look at them its simply retarded. Honda had a good thing going, why mess with that? Anyway we put a A6 crank and oil pump in.

do not reuse the headgasket,please!!!!
atleast go onto JIS and get a new one for like $30
all else looks great

We still haven't got started on the ass'y. Were lazy. :)

Got the intake parts though. Now I just have to pull the headlight and were set to go!
