i have a 94 civic dx hatchback with 60k on it. i dont know if i should turbo the stock engine just to keep it with the car because of the low miles or swap for an engine with more power but more miles?? i was thinking of something like a 98-01 B16B-R

leave it stock. low miles i'm assuming it's pretty clean. if you want to build a racer, find a shell that you can build. plus that stock engine is for commuting, a turbo wont do much, but it's a waste of a good engine to swap it out.

id say turbo it 60XXX isnt that bad buy arp studs and boost it. no ebay shit ok

a way to tune it the turbo set up injectors possibly dsm ones. it wont blow unless u dont get it tuned. i wouldnt worry about blowing it up unless it has high high miles. just dont go over 7 or 8 pounds be safe so u dont have to regret it later on if ur not planning on building your motor. d series motors get head lift around ten pounds some do some dont its a luck of the pick type thing. be safe and do 7 to 8 pounds and get it tuned with a good turbo set up no ebay stuff and you will be all good

X2 and don't forget some arp headstuds 2 prevent the head lift..

i have a D15B7, would the D16Y headstuds work for it? or what ones would be my best bet? also what is a good brand of turbos out there? and last one would new/bigger headers do anything to help prevent a blow and increase power?

search that on the forum. i have a d15b but summit racing had the arp headstuds for me. and the good turbo set up would be garret but thats me turbonetics or try homemade turbo. there is so many options it all depends what ur looking for if ur looking to spend alot or not. and are u talking about headers before the turbo setup or the turbo manifold.

well first what turbo kit will fit onto my D16B7???

any turbo kit thats for a d series motor all turbo manifolds for d series are the same well idk about the d16zc but thats not wat u want. u can find good turbo kits for your car all over the place. u prob herd this alot never ebay. idk how many times i can say that

search arp headstuds and you'll find it.. and there are a lot of kits out there it all depends on your budget/what your trying 2 spend...

that kit is prol the same as a ebay kit. your best bet is to check out homemadeturbo.com and do some research. i pieced togather a d-series turbo kit for under $500, with some time, research and fabricating. i used a eclipse turbo, civic hf manifold w/adapter, homemade downpipe, eclipse sidemount intercooler and cheap piping, and elbow grease. i ran it with a chipped ecu then got it tuned.

u wont find a good kit for cheap its like a oxymnoron u get what u pay for. dont go with anything cheap hold of intell u can afford a good turbo and a ecu to tune ur car. do it right the first time. that turbo kits pretty much the same thing as a ebay one. the turbos are junk but there is always one in a million of those things that act work right. try these web sites

homemadeturbo.com
turbonetics.com
procivic.com
turboelements.com

any of these sites will help u out
