yep....mmhhm.......yep...
hey there guys! i have a freind that said he would be interested in putting up the money to order a full container of used jdm engines. i wonder how many i could sell on here. i would give a good garantee and cheap prices as i would not be trying to get rich or pay the bills by doing this. just a little extra cach in my pocket. what do yall think? just a thought because there seem to be alot of people getting ripped off when they buy swaps.

I don't think thats a good idea, unless he's going to provide money for a new engine after one you ship out doesn't work for someone and they want something done about the lemon you sold em.

yea i wouldnt do it..if you could make this a local type of deal and get enough business then id say go for it..but the hassle of shipping engines a nd shit will get you in the end

i would just have the buyer pay for shipping and insure the for the cost of the engine. i would not sell lemons. but i would prefer to sell only local.

it's not worth it. between buying the engines, shipping, import and inspections, you really get low on profits. the money is made on the labor of doing the swaps. profit margins on imports are really low.

in short. only do it if you are running a swap shop. if not, it's not worth it.

thats putting a lot of faith in whatever supplier you are getting the engines from

you would be competing with people who have been doing this for years.

yeah, but i think this is one of those things that you could make a profit on if you have the capitol to get. i want to sell most of them locally. just something i have been looking at.

it's really not that easy though. it's not like buying xbox's wholesale and reselling them local. you have to deal with an engine supplier, shipping, imports, inspection.

even if you front $10,000 for a container, it's a 3-6 month turn around before you can sell the product.

i have personally dealt and know 3 importers. they dont' make money on engines. its all about the labor and upgrade parts.

agreed. it's a big pain in the ass.

a, you need to know someone in japan to get the motors, pack the container, and trust them with your $$,$$$ of dollars.
b, you need to get it to a port, pass import tarriffs, etc....
c, you need a trucker to bring said container to you in texas from LA
d, you need to inspect for missing parts, etc
e, sell them, pack them, ship them, and hope your don't get paypal'ed (aka buy backed)

all said and done, if you make $100 a motor, you'd be lucky... which i'd file under not worth my time.

sure id buy from you....

after you have been in business for several years with thousands of satisfied customers who speak highly of your product and service, as long as you guarantee your product to be complete and of the highest quality, and will replace any broken or missing parts free of charge quickly and without any bullshit

until then i'll stick to dealing with Steve at hmotors who already does that :)

:werd: Though, there's others besides Hmotors that are pretty good. I prefer Japan-Direct because they'll actually search for engines and try to get you the best prices(for two given motors, the prices aren't the same as it depends on who they get it from/mileage and condition). Plus, I can visit their facility and hand-pick the motor I want. :)

J32 Type-S with 6 speed and LSD please. :D
jswap into an eg or even ek...very nice
