i have a 91 si ef hatch with a jdm b18C swap...and i was wondering which clutch should i purchase since the one in the car went to crap...and whats a good short shifter...thanx in advance for your input and support...also, this car is my dd

I've always been a fan of Exedy clutches. I've always had good luck with them, and they are reasonably priced.

Competion clutch they are the best maybe a stage 2 and mostly all comp clutches have stock pedal feel

thanx...and it being my daily driver should i get a stage 2 clutch...and whats a 4 puck or 6 puck...whats the difference

As a dd I would use a stage 3 4 puck sprung cm clutch, they have great grab and drive almost like stock clutches. from what i noticed is a 4 puck is a lil stiffer and grabs a lil faster, making it a bit harder to dd. As for the 6 puck...well it drives like a stock clutch but it rattles while taking off in first gear. it also dose this when going in reverse.

Over all I liked the 4 puck sprung a hell of a lot better than the 6 puck(im running a 6 puck now) but you live in LA so.....i dont know. the best thing with clutches is trial and error.

is the grab mainly used for thr aspect of racing only and a pain in traffic cuz i do commute???

if its a stock car and not really gonna go over 200WHP I would say stick with a oem clutch or a stage 1 or 2 of any name brand. with the kind of traffic in LA i would stick to a clutch that feels a lot like a stock clutch.

couldn't agree more stop and go with a 6 or 4 puck would kill ur leg after 10 minutes

you definitly dont need a pucked clutch if its going to be a street car with 200whp. driving the car would be a pain in the ass

i recommend a stage 2 full face Kevlar disk, with stage 3 pressure plate from clutchnet.com their customer service sucks, but their clutches are the shit. bites so nice, and its really easy on the leg. unless you have a shit load of power stay away from the puck type, they eat up your flywheel if you power shift, and usually have a harsher engagement then a full face disk.
