Okay, have a 89 civic that is going to be a circle track car we are swapping all the stuff over to 91 SI harnesses. Now I have a deal lined up on a D16Z6 motor for cheap the issue is the track we aer running at we can run vtec it has been banned for 2010. Now can i use that short block with a non vtec head without having to use a jumper harness for the PCM?

Thanks for any help

you could use the Z6 short block with the non-VTEC head, however, due to the bigger dish on the Z6 pistons, your compression ratio would drop to around 8.5:1 - not good

well that would suck,

I just got a call from a friend who has a 90 honda with a blown auto he would sell me for a $100 with a 1.5 so I guess Ill be doing a 1.5 with a 1.6 head on it. We have an SI tranny to help out as well with the gearing versus the dx tranny.

thanks for the info.
