Okay, So i bought an accord with a f22 and an automatic transmission. I eventually want to do the h22 swap but im a little short on the funds right now. I do however want to go ahead and upgrade to a manual transmission for the f22. Ive heard that the h22 transmission will work. If possibble, I want to do that so that when I get ready for my swap, I already have the tranny. Good idea? Bad Idea? Possible? Impossible?

Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks.

Not to second guess you or anything but what about the f20 from the s2000? Not that i'm going to. Just curious...

by all f/h he was talking about f22a, f22b, h22a, h23a...not f20c or f22c

Yes, I should have specified that...when I said all F/H-series engines and transmissions are interchangeable, I meant only the Accord and Prelude applications. The S2000 motor is technically part of the F-series, but it's nothing like any of the Accord motors. You can't bolt it up to a FWD transmission, and there's no easy way to install it into a FWD vehicle. Sorry for the confusion...

Gotcha. That makes sense. Should have been a no-brainer on my part n e ways. lol. thanks for the help.

um depending on what car ur pulling it out of and putting it into you my need to tap the wholes to fit your mount or find the right mount, also dpending on the mount in may mess with the placement of ur engine, but only very VERY slightly. theres a few diy's, specs, and picture by picture instuctions over at cb7 tuner.com heres one of them (agian dont know if ull have to do this to ur car but good idea to check it out)

Is there a difference between gear ratios in these F/H series transmissions? Does anyone know of a comparison chart of the ratio differences?

Yes, there is a difference. Go into the reference section and look at the transmission comparison article. All the info you need is there.

Also, try not to bring back threads from years ago if possible...

what does the jdm f22 dohc v-tec come in?

1.) What the hell is a JDM F22 DOHC VTEC??? I've never heard of such a motor. I know of a non-VTEC dual-cam F22 that came in some JDM cars that's very similar to the US-spec H23, but I have never, ever heard of a motor like what you're talking about.

2.) Really? Did you really just tack another semi-related question on to the end of this old-ass thread when I just got done telling the other guy not to bring back old-ass threads for semi-related questions?

In the writeup it says that you should back the tap out every 2-3 turns. I've been told that you should never back a tap out if you can avoid it, because it grinds the loose shavings into the threads.
