With these serial #s can someone tell me any info on them ( what they are and what they came out of)

Engine stamped - ZC 7300087
Tranny - L3-2435499

i'm pretty sure the engine is a 3rd gen ZC. i'm not sure if it is a JDM or Acura engine. is the L3 tranny a stock tranny out of a crx or is a acura tranny? also
what do i do about parts if i need them for the engine? do i tell them i have an 89 integra or a 91 crx if its JDM? thank you

ZC is not an engine code used on any US engine. What parts you tell them depends on whether or not you have a 1.5L SOHC 1.6L SOHC or 1.6L DOHC. Not sure how to figure out which SOHC is which, but the DOHC should be rather easy to figure out.

Reference section has information on the tranny.

Since you said you have a ZC, i'd probably look at the line for the JDM ZC in that list.

thank you for the quick reply. sorry i forgot to mention it is a DOHC. i read somewhere that if you serial # started with a 2 it came from JDM civic/crx. if it started with a 5 it was a 2nd gen acura engine. but mine starts with 7 so what is this engine out of? i can post pics if necessary. so what should i tell the people at autozone?i have a 1.6L DOHC. from what car? a JDM Civic/CRX? i took a look at that tranny list for the zc. i take it the engine and transmission came together and its not a stock tranny? how can i tell if it is stock or not other then knowing the serial # and looking at that list?

Most of the parts for the DOHC are for the standard trim DA integra.

The folks at thezcr.com put together a nice document for all DOHC ZC parts.

DOHC ZC parts list - TheZCR.com Forums

For your questions about the tranny, I've got nothing that can help you. Sorry about that.

ok cool. so more then likely i have a JDM ZC engine. and not a D16A1 which is out of an integra. is the ZC engine the same as a D16A9?

No, its a different engine. Hence the reason some parts are interchangable with completely different engines. There's no one engine available in the US that is the equivalent of a DOHC ZC.

a D16A1 is stamped D16A1. for parts you tell them you have an 89 integra. yes the d16a9 is the same as the zc, there were similar versions of the zc made. the a9 was the European equivalent of the zc, the Japanese Si engine was stamped ZC

just dont say you have an integra when you do the timing belt/water pump because the parts for the integra do not work with a JDM ZC.

I'm kinda confused. you told me to tell them i have an 89 integra right? but an 89 integra has a D16A1 engine. shouldn't i tell them i have a CRX JDM with a D16A9 engine since you said the ZC is the same is the D16A9?

so... i should tell them i have an 89 integra for all my engine parts since they don't have parts for my jdm zc engine? this doesn't make sense since the A1 and ZC are different engine's.

I was confused at first too.. you cant get parts for a jdm zc unless you order them from japan. for parts tell them you have an 89 integra, yes except for the timing belt. for the timing belt you ask for a belt for an 88 prelude. im not sure about the water pump so i cant add to that.

I've NEVER heard of people asking for parts for a D16A9 to put on their zc, so i wouldnt do that... just my opinion. i could be wrong tho.

ya thanks i took a look at it sorry bout that. i got another question. what ECU do i have? is it PM6 or 7 how can you tell. also what is the hp on the zc dohc? i'm hearing 130, 135, 137, and 140 hp.

this website gives a list of the engine specs but there are 2 different cars to choose from. how would i know which engine is mine

you can tell what ecu you have by looking at the code on the side of it. like in the picture

this is a pm7 as you can see!! sorry for the multiple posts.. btw awesome parts list reikoshea. The DOHC ZC is 137hp stock.

You have a JDM ZC, thats what engine you have. And just use that parts list when you need parts. your not going to find out what exact car it came out of.

ok what JDM ZC engine did it cam out of there's 2. your saying it came out of
1990-1993 CRX (JDM) because that engine has 137hp but i thought it came out of 1989-1992 CRX Si16/1.6i (JDM) since that is a direct bolt on...i'm so confused. alsomy engine is a 3rd gen zc if that helps any.

could some1 tell me if a B18A1 engine will fit in a CRX? and if so would it be a direct bolt on or what would i have to do to modify it 2 fit in. thanks
