I am boosting for the first time and need help from my fellow members... I will be updating the shit out of my build thread if you help.

I found this turbo kit on eGay:

TURBO KIT

I know eBay is crap but this is just to get me started boosting at a low psi until I can upgrade the parts with something better. Thanks Guys.

My goal is around 180hp with a cheap kit and eventually go higher. I just wanted to make sure everything I needed was there and if you guys had any experience with eGay. No haters please...:(

I do not see any point whatsoever in this plan. If you're just going to replace your cheap, crappy parts with better quality parts later anyway, then why bother at all with the cheap, crappy parts? Just wait a little while, save a little more money, and do it right the first time...

The only ebay parts I would use would be the IC, piping, and down pipe.

+1 efhondakid... I am just wanting to learn the basics. If I wanted the big ass turbo from Turbonetics I would be doing forged internals and porting the head and a shit ton of other stuff first. This engine is old and basically stock, so I would rather not blow it up. I have a d16y8 I am building with the internals and just getting a hands on experience with Turbochargers before I shoot for more horsepower. The only logical thing to do, is learn before I blow something up after pouring cash into it. Thanks for the opinions and I will definitely consider them.

My Budget is around 1k because of christmas also. Budgets suck but that's what I am stuck with. I looked into a homemade turbo setup and it would actually cost more plus having to rebuild the turbo itself. Thinking about a 16g from an evo later on or the gt35r if i do internals first?

If you plan on re-buying all the parts later on, then just save the money you have now for a nicer turbo kit. eBay shit is not worth the headaches or hassle

"Kit", Where could I find a nicer Turbo Kit. No where for the budget. They make adapter plates for the GT35-R's and the 16G's or you can custom make your own with a welder. I don't plan on buying different parts for a very long time unless it's just the turbo itself. That is until bisimoto will release his manifold and 3.6 cam for sale...

you get what you pay for I guess. but I think with the ebay kits it's more or less hit or miss. because I know some people where it just went to hell and other people where they've been running ebay kits for like a year and a half with no problems and one of them is pushing like 15 psi

You can piece together used parts and get solid results with little worry of the eBay horrors. Guys are always selling manifolds and blow off valves. Just get a new or rebuilt t3/t4 if you don't plan on upgrading internals right now. At least this is my plan for when I don't need my EG for transportation.

Exactly, because you aren't going to find quality parts that cheap. You get what you pay for with cars, keep that in mind.

I'm trying to give you advice because I've been down this road before. If you want to do something cheap, then just do a swap and call it good. Turbocharging a Honda opens up a whole new realm of problems and problem solving.

Damn that's alot of hate and it looks like the bad experience is definitely there. I mention a turbo kit from eGay and hondaswap.com members run to the rescue lol. Thanks guys. I will be sure to post up when I find something.

Since you didnt even bother to look and the "Turbo Information" here is a link: http://https://hondaswap.com/turbo-information/building-homemade-turbo-kit-81384/ You can build a turbo setup using a stock dsm turbo, d'series manifold and an adapter for next to nothing compared to what ull spend on the egay junk then replacing parts when the egay stuff shits out. Good luck and just do a little research.
I'm curious on what that manifold adapter looks like and where to get them because I wouldn't mind picking one up

we have guys running ebay kits here..only problems we have had are cracked manifolds and the turbo itself leaks oil after awhile..

Very useful. I have heard of oil leaks or the turbo just splitting in half with glue shitty stuff coming off. I will be sure to get something more durable.

If you're going to use anything from an eBay turbo kit, just use the downpipe and intercooler piping. Some of the BOV's work okay, I had one on my Volvo lol

Thanks Matt, the bov on this one seems like an epic fail. I would like an hks if I can get a hold of one sometime.
