If I was to ever buy a BMW motorcycle, it would be an older one with the horizontally opposed 4, those are cool bike.

they still use the horizontally opposed engine in a large portion of their bikes...

heres the 2009 HP2 sport (1200cc boxer twin)

:mmm:

i like the bmw lights... they look odd... but at the same time, they dont look like every other fucking bike on the road

they also tend to do shit based strictly on function... and if that is the way they work best they do it that way... instead of compromising and using a form that looks better but is lacking in function

i like that about them

This might be my next bike, we'll see when I'm ready to buy another one. the new 2010 ZX10R is once again looking pretty good.

^^ I want your orange 1k!

mint cond. It's been a good bike. I can't wait to move to the next house then I can keep my 1K, pick up the BMW, and a nice daily rider like that duck street fighter. Or buy a wrecked 1K and make a custom street fighter.

Girls a nice add on too!

It really bothers me that they made a crotch rocket and named it the 1000rr. Are they going to rename the 3 series "sCivic" now? The M will be replaced by Si badges?

In a market where there are only half a dozen big names, you'd think they could be original enough to not steal the name of one of them. Also, its a little on the heavy side, everyone else is 30ish pounds lighter. Doesn't sound like much, but that is detrimental in a super bike. Thats like strapping two bowling balls onto a r1 and doing a track day with it.

P.S. My 1krr still makes me giggle like a child every time I come within 10 feet of it. I love that bike.

RR does not = Honda

remember the ZX6RR?

RR = race ready

Something honda up til the last gen RR really shouldn't have had as their name since IMO the other 3 major japanese bikes were more RR then honda.

Gixxer 1k > BMW.
I ride Suzuki and i'd probably have to disagree. BUT, like I said. R1 > BMW.

There are only so many things you can call a 1000. Maybe they coulda gone 1Krr. or 1LRR, but I dont see it as a big issue. And the R1 weighs in at 454 pounds wet as per Yamaha, while the BMW weighs in at 455 wet. Though in the wrong location on the bike 1 pound could make a difference its not going to be so huge of one.

PS Even my little GSX-R600 makes me giggle as I walk up to it. I too love it. Until the Camaro is finished I cant say for sure, but I think it may have replaced it on the top of the list.
