Hey, new here. Just getting right down to the point..

I have a JDM H22a (Prelude SIR) motor swapped into a 95 EG. The head gasket went on it, and i'm considering some upgrades. So here's my question..

1) Can I drop the TYPE S pistons in it, and how much of a bump in compression/Horsepower could I be looking at?

2) Can Forged pistons go in this without problems? I'm hearing alot about how forged pistons can mess up the cylinder walls because of their unique composition..

3) Never tracked the thing, but I plan on it, any guesses as to what i'd run in a 1/4?

1. Yes. Not sure... but it's been discussed before. Search.
2. FRM cylinder walls tend to get chewed up by aftermarket forged pistons. Some brands can be used though. I think Mahle was one of the "FRM compatible" forged piston for the H22.
3. No clue- mid 13s to high 12s in ideal conditions?

why don't you search it. these questions have all been asked and answered.

I have.

I know that the Mahle pistons are coated, as well as their rings to be used with FRM cylinder walls in the H-Series motors. Yet my issue is that since NO PISTON ever touches the Cylinder wall unless you get the dreaded PISTON SLAP, and that truly it's THE RINGS that touch the wall..why is it that people can't just run Forged Pistons with FRM-Safe Piston rings? I know the Type-S pistons CAN be used in the JDMh22a block, but the Mahle or after market forged pistons will yeild a significantly greater increase in compression..possibly up to 12.5:1, and so..greater horsepower.

Now knowing all of this why did I ask anyway? because I'm looking for individuals who've BEEN THROUGH IT, to chime in. Somethings you can't get from just reading some text write up on a part or some OLD thread on an OLD build that right NOW could be going through NEW PROBLEMS since they did it. SO now that we've made it clear that i'm not just some lazy guy up here looking for answers...once again, can anyone share their experiences or knowledge, to shed light on my questions.

Ok so I tore the block down, and I ran my finger along the cylinder walls..nail didn't get caught in anything, walls are fine actually.

So i'm set to Order Mahle Gold Series High COmpression Pistons, and Eagle Rods. No sleeves.

Now i'm hesitant, because I wanna Gun for 200whp but I don't have much money left and I WANT to do the Drivetrain with AT LEAST Skunk2 Pro Cams, valves and retainers and Cam gears. DO I NEED this to get to my 200whp mark or will the bottom end work alone do the do?

This car is being ran off a hondata s300, so with THIS and a good tune could I see my goal?
