Holiday Travel--What did you do

Holidays are great but what a stressful time of year.....I don't have it all that bad but some people are driving 300 miles in one day just to visit everyones families...what a nightmare...Im glad its over

Xmas Eve:
30 miles to party
40 miles to midnight mass
15 miles to GF parents house
18 miles back to my house

Xmas:
20 miles to parents
18 miles to GF's parents
18 miles back to my house

What was your travel like?

Everyday..... From last week till the end of the year.


So fuggen tired.....

Hopped on a company plane from Chicago to Columbus Thursday morning.
Got picked up for the 5 minute drive home.
Went around the block to a friends house to hang out Christmas Eve.
Had Christmas (on the morning of) with the family at said home.
Rode ten minutes to a friends house to party til the wee hours of this morning.
Caught a ride back home.
Probably repeating those last two parts the next couple nights.

Damn, thats a stressful long weekend. lol

A lot of people have to nowadays. I would have had to work christmas eve into the morning and then caught a flight home after if I hadnt finagled a deal with the boss.

Yup... But I wasn't cheap.....

I work for a private freight airline that ships bank work, radioactive pharmaceuticals for cancer treatment, and various diagnostic materials. Or whatever you'll pay us to ship to an extent. Since we can get their stuff they generated one day from the east coast to the west coast or anywhere inbetween overnight a lot of medical companies use us. I supervise the HazMat department for our main hub. I see some pretty interesting stuff.

Oh and we use Lear Jet 35s, Beechcraft 58s, Cessna 208s, and Piper PA-31s converted for freight running. I love riding in the jets.

Right now it's the end of the year crunch to see how many aircaft we can Finnish for the year. I'm stuck still finishing the hh-60m's

Yes its pretty sweet. The pilots will throw me the controls every now and then. But since its at night and we're shipping time critical stuff I can't mess around too much. The radiation im exposed to equates to an xray or two a year. We closely monitor that. I wanna snag an old turbo off one of the Navajos! They're bigger than my hand. WAY bigger lol.

Then i'll sit tight for the next week, and then drive back to the Cities after New Years.

I did all my driving last weekend. And it was only a 20 minute drive to see the girlfriends family. The girlfriends family was down here to watch her younger sister play basketball against the highschool I went to.

Day - 50 miles to PA, then 45 Miles second dinner, then 25 miles to 3rd... then I crawled 1 mile home to pass out by 9pm.
