in my 91 hatch i have my jdm b18c with a type R head and gsr tranny hydro to cable conversion...my question is what more i can do to get more hp out of the vehicle...besides cai, headers, or exhaust...i was just curious as to what i can do internally to the engine...

also another thing is that im getting crappy gas mileage...something around 18-23 mpg...does that sound right, and what could be the problem???thanx in advance...

if you arent wailing on the car, 18-23 on a gsr seems impossible. might be running kinda high on the timing, might be an ecu issue. Really got nothing from the information you've given.

it depends on how internal you want to get. because you could get a stroker kit, or just bigger pistons, you could port and polish the head, different intake manifold, it all depends on how deep you want to get, hope that helps

also high compression pistons

do a turbo and tune it..that should be enough power forawhile

i have an itr intake manifold and i bought the car in november...u think maybe the sparkplugs or something like that mite need to be changed...or cap and rotor, etc...thanx for ur help...

wanna keep the vehicle all moter no forced induction...

Well you already have a 11:1 compression ratio so I would say bigger cams.

But if you want to go all out you will need Higher domed pistons, maybe bored to 82mm, P&P the head, 1+mm valves, rocketmotorsports cams, and ITB's.

Needless to say 440cc injectors and a better fuel system.
Also before all of this I would say at least upgrade your breaks.

all sounds good...now my curiosity is asking how much gain in power will i get out of this, and how much damage to my pocket will buying this do...i will have to have someone do the labor since im not mechanically inclined...

okay a better fuel system???how will that, or may i say how will that benefit???sorry but im new to this stuff...and what kind of brake or brake kit do you recommend???

just turbo the car. look at it this way, to go all motor you're already doing the following that you'd need for forced induction:
upgrading the fuel system
changing the ecu
getting the setup tuned
possibly changing internals (though you could just leave the whole motor stock and sit happy at 250whp)

.. why would you do all that and not go FI? it just doesnt make any sense to me. you could have 250whp fairly easily and far cheaper than an all motor 250whp. all motor is extremely expensive, and i dont think its going to bring you the results you want

what if i do the internals and get roughly 250 whp and then decide to get a turbo...will i get abt 300 whp???

if you get that gsr up to 250 all motor (can definitely be done) you can kiss that turbo goodbye without another rebuild. only way to avoid it is to live near a track and pay 8-9 a gallon for 110 octane. Even then, i don't know who id get to tune an all motor build that's been turbo'd. Everyone would laugh at you and RUN away. They dont want that insurance claim.

so what do u recommend...turbo or do it all motor and not have to worry abt the maintenance of a turbo...i dont wanna have to worry abt the turbo maintenance...what do u say???

if you were running 12:1 compression with a turbo you'd need some high octane gas (way higher than 93) to keep the engine from exploding.

Im a big proponent of keeping a car in its standard build. I talk a good game about turbos and stuff, but a honda with a turbo just feels wrong. They're meant to be rev happy high horsepower (for their displacement) motors that you can have fun with. They are not meant to have 3-400 horsepower and be driven daily.

I can tell you how to do both, but if funds weren't an issue i'd definitely go all motor, if they are, then a turbo is a cheaper way to get the same result in a less responsive package.

well thank God im not tight on funds but i sure aint rich you feel me...i wanna roll all motor...what shall i do
