the k24's out of the element/crv/accord goes for pretty cheap because there are a shit-ton of them on the road. $600 seems like a nice price for a long block. Now if that's the 200hp k24 out of the tsx, I'd raise eyebrows.

more than likely some kid probably drove the crap out of that engine. Revving off the limiter in neutral then just slamming it into drive, because it was in a automatic car.

like 94civicturbo said, I wouldn't buy either unless I could hear it run.

oooooor, they pulled it from a wrecked accord at the junkyard thinking they were gonna swap it in over the weekend... then they realized how much it would cost to swap it... so they're selling it now.. :shrug2:

Hey, Mr. Optimism, we'll have none of that shit in this house. It was beaten to shit, revved to 11K, neutral dropped like a motherfucker, then when it ran out of oil they just pissed down the dip stick.

there could be a million reasons... we will never know.. exactly the reason i will never buy a motor unless its from an importer or salvager with start-up warranty

K24's are dirt cheap
i've seen 40-50k mile motors going for $400 from reputable yards
no one wants them unless they are doing the head swap

same principle as B20's being dirt cheap

Werd, if it were stolen, that VIN tag would not be there. Unless they are some truly stupid thieves (highly likely).

I concur with the cheap K24 statement. Some guy locally was selling a couple cheaper(around $400) and still couldn't move them as fast.
