my 2006 gsx-r1000 has been sitting for like the last year and a half...and my question is what should i do before starting it up...keep in mind i havent even started my bike up at all...i know i need to change the oil, and assume i need to empty the gas tank out just in case moisture was created over due time...dont wanna have any water in the tank...any other recommendations before i turn my baby back on...thanks in advance...
 
Use punctuation.
Don't alternate capitals and lowercase letters.
Purge fuel lines before putting in new gas.
 
change oil, fuel, +1 purge the fuel lines.chk chain& lube, among other normal maintenence tires, coolent, at first start up let run till its completly @ running temp/ I would test drive around the block or so. make sure hoses/lines are not leaking. I did all this to my bike after 4months of sitting
