Can i use a 3 stage vtec selenoid on my D16Y8 motor??? can anyone post a P2J-003 ecu pic?? can i convert a P2J-J62 ecu from auto to manual?? Can i use the Y8 intake manifold?? Anyone done this before??

Are you trying to give your D16Y8 three-stage VTEC by simply using an ECU and solenoid from a VTEC-E engine?

-vtec is vtec. You cant really change it up, you can change the activation point to a diff RPM(buddy club vtec cntlr)
-the solinoid does not change the vtec stage if thats what your asking. It only opens a port to allow oil psi to push the vtec pins to lock the 3rd cam lifter (only on intake portion for d16, B/H/K series change both intake and exhaust)
-unless you get a cam shaft, and change the cam profile lift, duration, etc *just a simple explaination

Well i dont know i guess you are not well informed of a 3rd stage vtec.... Is supposed to work with 12 valves from 2800 rpm til 5500 and at 5500 til red line 7300 work with full 16 valves... is a 2 selenoid vtec also known as vtec-e

No, actually you are not informed. 3 stage vtec/ vtec-e is only available on the d15b
and it works by leaving one intake valve is closed on all cylinders during 0-2500 rpm. From 2500 rpm up the motor works just like a regular vtec motor.

Threads like this make me facepalm.

VTEC is a fuel economy technology... I don't understand people's logic at all.
