i was reading and searching and looking around and i was wondering what is the overall gain of putting a b16a2 head on the B18c1 gsr short block? like HP and torque?

Simply swapping heads will do very little. A B16 head flows better than the GSR, but the GSR in stock form will yield higher compression. The idea of a Poorman's Type R is to mimic a Type R. A Type R head in bare form is a ported B16. So if you port a B16 head, use Type R hardware and stick Type R pistons in the bottom end, you basically have a Type R. High flowing head with high compression.

the GSR head flows just about the same, the only bad thing about the gsr is the stock intake manifold. Swapping heads for a b16?? why? just use a skunk 2 intake manifold or a Blox intake manifold.

Nope, because you won't have 1.8L. No way to guess HP since you can't put all Type-R internals into a B16A block and have it work without smashing the pistons into the head.

ok kool hey but would i have 2 swap out other internals or just pistons?

JadeDM1teg: Hone the block and put the 0.5mm bigger re-build piston for the B16B, You have to have a machine shop to alter the piston/rod combo but I'm not sure on the specifics...do some research. Then get the head ported. The fact is that a poor man's type R is only as good as the machine shop it is taken to. Otherwise, your better off just buying a Civic Type R swap for about $4,000. Its a better choice then taking your motor to some random machine shop that helps your motor blow up quicker.

For the top end parts, You need all the springs. new retainers, LMA's, Cams, oil and gas pump for 9Krpm's+. OBD2? Type R injectors. OBD1? Prelude DOHC VTEC injectors or equivalent aftermarket.

With all honesty, you need to research your option a lot more. There are good write ups on the subject. Google it and you might be surprised on how much you can learn.
