It was one of my customer's cars. The body not in terrible condition, but I'm going to paint it in the spring. Until then, I need to get the car running so I can daily drive it. I have a bit of money to spend on this thing, but I'm looking for a true budget project.

It has the 70 horsepower 8 valve engine that is completely worn out, and a 5 speed manual transmission. I am looking for either a complete drivetrain from a 90-95 Integra RS/LS/GS (B18B) or a D16Z6 with the engine, wiring, and computer.

I already read up on the Integra B18 swap, and it seems pretty damn easy, just a bit hard to find a good complete assembly. The D16Z6 engines, I have rebuilt before and are pretty easy to find.

Finally, my questions:
Is the CX transmission geared better or worse than the other D series transmissions? I noticed they have a different interchange number

If I decide to go with the d16z6 engine, wiring harness, and computer, am I going to need anything else? I'm also wondering if I should get a different manual transmission as well.

Any suggestions will be helpful. I normally mess with the G2 Legends and 3.5 swaps, but I have owned and worked on plenty of EG civics.

just do a full b18b swap. easiest swap, best numbers, best potential. by far the most bang for the buck.

that's what I'm looking for, bang for the buck. It won't be a mint show car, and it won't be a race car. Just a fun daily driver.

Somewhat hard to find right now, no wrecked Integras around my area to snag what I need.

where are you located?

if you shop around, you should be able to find one local for $1400 or less for the whole swap. if not, go to www.hmotorsonline.com

I'm in Ohio. If I spend $1000, I can likely find a wrecked 94-95 Integra and make some of my money back on the rest of the car parts or the shell. $1400 around here, I can get a GSR swap, but I'm not looking to spend that much. I'm going to hit up the local pull-a-part and see if I can find any Integras. Worst case scenario, I find an engine in one, and a transmission in another, then peel the rest of the parts between those two cars.

Anybody know anything about this CX transmission and the gearing? My buddy needs a manual transmission for his 94 DX hatch but he doesn't want a worse gear ratio.

the best gear ratios will come from an ex/si tranny. cx/vx/dx are all really long gear ratios meant for fuel mileage.

where in ohio are ya? i'm in the central columbus area. this was just listed the other day in the lancaster area.

b18a1 drop out need gone

a friend of mine also mentioned to me that he had a buddy with a complete b20 swap with axles, trans, linkage, wiring, etc for $800 if you're interested.

If you can get a GSR swap for $400 more.....do it do it do it. Night and day difference between the two motors. If you can find an OBD1 swap with ECU, its just about as easy as the B18B swap except you will need its harness (or D16Z6 one thats slightly mod'ed) or Mod yours and run the VTEC lines to ECU

I'm in Canton, a bit far from C-bus, but not too far to go for a good deal.
