Skunk2, GReddy or...

A handful of friends are telling me to get a GReddy exhaust. I've been looking at Skunk2... Which is better? I did notice Skunk2 is cheaper... Or is there another better exhaust I should get. I'm also looking at getting headers at the same time.

I have a skunk2 exhaust on my eg, it has a really low tone too it, I think it sounds great but I like it to be a little loud.

I want some what of that aggressive sound, but not the "annoying makes your ears hurt shit" cause I've been in cars like that before. So, 1 for skunk and 1 for greddy...

Any other opinions?

Go to a muffler shop and get them to build you a custom cat-back system and throw a glass-pac on it. If they do it right it will be reliable, sound just as good, and save you some money

i say this because i have had to weld the brackets that hold the coffee can muffler to the rubber gromet back twice now. Im not saying that will happen to you but it happened to me

to the op: get a decent muffler and go to a muffler shop and have them throw some 2 1/4 to your muffler on there.. thatd be the cheapest way

i disagree with a muffler shop made exhaust unless you are just really on a tight budget. a nice bolt on cat back setup should last longer, sound better, and flow better too. there are more choices than skunk2 and greddy out there.

in the past i had problems with mufflershop exhausts leaking, hangers breaking off, poor ground clearance, etc. ive had a couple different brands of quality cat backs and they bolt right up like the oem exhaust and lasted for years with no problems.

This would depend on who's making it. There's quite a few reputable muffler shops that do performance applications(they also do intercooler tubing, aluminum exhausts, etc) that are more than capable of building a quality exhaust with quality materials. Same goes with brands.

What exactly are you looking for? Greddy offers a few different varieties to choose from; with the SP2 being my favorite. Nice low, quiet tone and a clean look.

Just about EVERY muffler shop DOES NOT have a mandrel bender. So you have the crushed bends that aren't a huge constriction but they will not flow as well as an aftermarket mandrel bent kit. You could get lucky in a big town but its like winning the lottery

Some shops still offer mandrel bent pipes but don't have a bender; they just buy them.

and ive never seen someone do such amazing work
but if you arent so lucky then maybe bolt on is best?

i have the skunk 2 on my ef and like it but it is alittle loud. comes with a silencer as well
