Well, a few months ago I got a 2G (first gen) iPhone from my girlfriend's brother, for free, since he upgraded to the new 3G 16 gig iPhone.

I never used it because I never had the need for it. I got an iPod and all I use my cell phone for is texting, picture messages, and an actual phone, lol. Plus, AT&T wanted me to pay an extra $30 a month for the data package. Fuck that, I got a PC to surf the web and shit.

Anyway, Friday, while I was at school, I pulled my LG Shine out my pocket and the screen was fucking cracked. So instead of paying the $50 to get a replacement phone, I decided to just use the iPhone. My girlfriend's brother Jail Broke it so I can use it with the SIM card from my Shine and so I wouldn't have to get the damn Data package from AT&T.

Now i'm looking into getting REV: http://www.devtoaster.com/products/rev/index.html

I just wanted to know if anyone knows of any other Wifi devices that plug into the DLC/OBD2 port other than these: http://www.devtoaster.com/products/rev/index.html

EDIT: The links above keep linking to the same page. The first link I meant for it to link the 'main' tab and the second link I meant for it to link the 'hardware' tab...

The PLX Kiwi Wifi looks to be the best and is the cheapest of the 3, but damn, $150 seems kinda steep. I mean, not that I won't make the money back doing side jobs and such but if I can spend less, that would obviously be better.

So is there any other companies that make something similar for around $100 or so?

that app looks sweet, but fuck its 40 dollars just for the app
Yeah this kid at school has it and it's pretty dope. When he got it, the app was $30 with a lifetime of free updates to the app just incase they release a new version you can update.

It also has data logging. The only thing it seems to be missing is an oscilliscope. If this app had an oscilliscope and allowed me to backprobe sensors, i wouldn't care how much it cost lol :)

what they should do is sell the hardware and include a 40 dollar itunes card for the app lol.

iphone ftw. Now go buy an otter box!!

Love my Otterbox. Not so sure about the iPhone- it's a love/hate relationship... but I wouldn't have anything else right now.
Just read up on it. Seems pretty cool. He gave me this Protective Cover for iPhone : Incase Product with the phone. Doesn't seem like it's as strong as any of the 3 different otter boxes but it's better than nothing. I also got some protective clear skin stuff that goes over the screen from my step dad. He bought some for his Black Berry. I got all this stuff for free so I might as well use it :)

what out with your data usage without a plan
that phone could be checking for updates every hour
not really sure if they use data even if you're not browsing the web

im using a skullcandy case for my iphone, looks the same as the otterbox and incase stuff, and same price.

I always had an envy for Iphone users. Since i got the job at Subaru i upgraded my plan and got a new Droid from Verizon.

I like it, only draw back is it's pretty heavy and i have to restart it ever couple days or else it stops refreshing and i stop getting emails.

It does use data- but you can turn all the notifications off so that it's not using data at all.

If I even try going on the internet with this phone it tells me i'm not a subscriber of a data package so I cannot connect lol.

I did go to Mickey D's on my lunch break to use their free wifi though :) Got REV and the T Pain app lol. Now on friday i'm just waiting for my pay check to order the PLX Kiwi Wifi OBD2 DLC so I can use REV :D
