got a 2001 honda accord 2.3l 4cyl vtec a/t. wanna put a h22 in it and keep it auto.
what all do i need to do this and what model h22 do i go with??

You'll want an H22A4 from a 99-01 Prelude. You'll also need the matching ECU. If you don't care about your gear ratios then the transmission that's already in your car will bolt up to the H22. If you want the Prelude's ratios, then you'll want the Prelude's transmission as well. Skip the "shift-tronic" and ATTS gearboxes. Swapping all of that shit in would be a hassle...

thanks for the feedback. after looking into it i think im gonna get a f20b it still has the hp gain im looking for and im not worried about boosting the engine so i wont need the h series. the f20b is sid to be the best straight engine swap for a f23a1 w/ a/tranny. has anyone on here done or heard about a f20b in a accord?

Should be the same deal as an H22 swap. You want an engine the same year or fairly close to the same year as your car (99-01 should probably suffice). As for mounting, it will bolt up using stock mounts, same as any other F or H-series (aside from the S2K engines)...

what about trannys? someone told me that the f20b wont hold up to the f23 tranny i got now. but this is gonna be some race car. jut want some extra horses

What? That doesn't make sense. Do you mean that the engine won't hold up? Or the tranny won't hold up?

i think he meant the tranny wont hold up with the extra power the new motor would put out

my suggestion is to not swap an obd2 car. PITA. but whatever floats your boat man

yea the tranny. and supposedly the ecu and wiring harness will work for this engine tat is in mine? true or not

The tranny should be fine. If you're not gonna romp on it constantly, then it should hold up alright...
