I have a 92 civic with a d16 y4 motor in it due to the original blowing up. About 6 weeks ago I head the head done because of a blown gasket, and the other morning driving to work I shifted from 2nd to 3rd then accelerated then suddenly the power dropped out and stalled, ever since then my civic has had no balls at all struggles to keep going, any suggestions on what it would be would be great thanks.

sounds like somebody did some bad machine work or you istalled the head incorrectly...have you done a wet and dry compression check? i would do this and then post the results you'll get a lot more help

more info needed, what have you looked @, and/or tested?

I haven't checked, we came across a crack inthe exhaust manifold and I got it fixed but stillthe same, i hve it booked in for a service and re tension in a fewdays, illpost what happens

it happened when u started to accelerate? sounds like it could possibly be a spun bearing. check what everyone else says to. ive had a spark wire go out and it did that when i gave it 3/4+ gas. check the map sensor also.

for service? u dont want to work on your own car? j/w

I'd work on it if I knew how to lol, but yeh I took it to the shop and it turns out it was they key way for the camshaft that snapped so all the timing for the valves an sparking were out,
