So on Friday I finally picked up the diamond in the rough i've always wanted :)

96 DB8, 157k miles, salvage due to theft but has original motor and trans, runs strong. Completely stock except it's lowered on Tein Springs and is sitting on Bronze 15" TE37's. Interior is clean, 9/10 :)
The right rear quarter panel has a dent that is going to get pulled and fixed in a couple weeks by a friend of mine. Needs a front and rear bumper but I already came up on the front bumper. The rear isn't gonna be hard to find :)

I don't have any immediate plans other than an alarm, tint, and a double din dvd player.

Plans for the summer include ITR swap, better suspension set up, stainless steel brake lines, brembo blanks, Hawk HPS pads, Bronze 16" TE37's, full championship white paint job, stereo system, and maybe a carbon fiber hood and trunk lid. Most likely not though because that look is starting to disgust me lol.

Thanks Cal. I got it for $3700 and I wanna ITR swap it just to give it that extra ooomph without tearing into the motor. I know I can mod the GSR but I really don't want to since all the stuff i'd want won't let me stay smog legal lol. Damn Cali. With an ITR swap, since the car is OBD2, it has the same emissions stuff the USDM ITR has so getting it smogged (or even bar'd if i have to) won't be much of a problem. Plus, the LSD trans is always a plus :D

My girl came home to drop some stuff off real quick so I snatched her phone and took a couple interior shots and engine bay shot. I'll post them up in a bit :)
 
hell yeah! congrats! i too looked for a clean DC2 forever....i got lucky with the rsx but man did i want a clean teggy.

Ah, Cali. I never look to see where people are from... that swap makes more sense now. Still expensive though.

You could easily swap the cams and have performance greater than the ITR- but then again, you could do that with the ITR engine too. Just keep all the mods internal to the engine, and swap ECUs when it's time to go for your test.

Well nothing is set in stone right now so i'll keep this thread updated :)
 
While it wouldn't have LSD, I'd say throw in some CTR pistons and call it a day. Freshen up bearings and seals while you're in there too.

Well, part of the plan to go ITR was so I can build a full drag CRX with this GSR motor as the starting platform :) I'm planning on going 10's...

Yeah mine is pretty much stock :D I paid $3700. When you have kids, you'll definately be in the 4 door game :)

i read that you want to get rid of the current te-37s and go with 16s.
if you get rid of those LET ME KNOW.. theyd look nice on my hatch :D

How much for the 15" TE37's?

Friday the car will be getting a new front bumper.

This saturday, car will be getting tint, alarm, and double din...

I found a rear bumper but I don't know when i'll have the chance to go get it...

if you do decide to swap out the GSR for a Type R, i may have a buddy here who would want the GSR swap.. this is his car .. NWP4LIFE: My 97 LS Build he only has an LS in it right now
