ive got a a6/z6 mini me in a 95 ej2 with a stock p28 ecu, and using the d16a6 02 sensor on a dc header, using the z6 intake mani and all z6 sensors on it..im pretty sure the wiring harness on my car is the a6 si harness. i havent got around to hooking up the vtec and running the wires for it yet... its currently in limp mode..and im not sure why exactly but i have a good idea ;)

i just got the head on and got it running, i still havent found the right locations of some sensors, including the map sensor...and im pretty sure this is why my car is in limp mode..

i need a diagram with good pics that shows me the locations of all the important sensors, such as map, iacv, tps, eacv, iat, all these...so i will be able to compare mine to those and figure out if i have the right plugs hooked to the right sensors. ive searched on here and on the web, the only diagrams and pics i could find were not helping me, they werent showing me pics, oonly desciptions, which werent helping.

also, i need a vacuum line diagram as well.

any help would be greatly appreciate please!! thanks guys, youve helped alot in the past so im kinda counting on ya, dont let me down plz

if you use a 92-95 ex/si engine harness you will be able to figure out where the connectors go easily, and your vtec will be wired already. also use the 4 wire o2 sensor.
in all your threads, i haven't seen which distributor you are using. its kind of important because only a z6 distributor will work with a z6 head. (if you want to set the base timing properly)

z6 dizzy...a6 si wiring harness..also, head and block were both at tdc when i put the head on, and when i put the timing belt on...so im pretty positive it in time, unless theres more to timing one than that? it runs prefect when parked, but when i try to drive it, it starts sputtering and bogging and shit...

a6 si wiring harness..
that's an obd0 harness, you need obd1 harness. do your self a favor and get a 92-95 si/ex harness

still timing problems. check again the CAM timing with cylinder 1 @ tdc with the crank and cam on their marks. then after you get the belt on, rotate the crank COUNTER clockwise until you are back on the mark. check the cam again. almost everytime i put a head on, it's off by 1 tooth the first try.
now its time to set the IGNITION timing. i recommend an adjustable timing light, unless you have a d16z6 crank pulley. the engine should be at operating temp.
loosen the three distributor bolts and plug in the service connector by your ecu.
set the adjustable timing light to 16*btdc.
Start engine and rotate the distributor so that the mark white mark on the crank pulley lines up with the pointers on the lower timing cover.
tighten the distributor bolts and turn off the engine.
remove service jumper.
start the car and drive it. should be better now.

ok a buddy of mine came over, he said he thinks its a d15b7 harness, since the car originally had a po6 ecu when i got it to begin with. another reason i dont think its timing, i wasnt the one that installed the timing belt and adjust the dizzy, my dad did that part. but we dont have/cant afford a timing light.. double checked, all marks are indicating its lined up right belt and cam wise...also, 2nd gear only bogs for a second or 2, i can hold the gas pedal down and it bogs, then picks up pretty fast like it should. it only does that in first and second. in third and fourth it bbogs down badly and wont go over 3k, and i cant drive in 5th cause i can give it enough gas to keep acelerating without reaching 3k and bogging it down. im just stumped. tomorow im gonna take the iacv off my d16a6 intake and try putting it on the z6 intake, that should work right? im positive the car is obd1 and the wiring is obd1 cuz it was like that when i got it. it had the a6 motor and trans, b7 dizzy and wiring harness, b7 p06 ecu as well and ran great until the temp guage quit working and i didnt notice that, kept driving it about 2 hours, got home and steam started pouring as i rolled in the driveway. under the hood, the radiator was bone dry, so i filled it up with coolant, started the car and finished pouring coolant in, put cap on, and was watching for leaks when bam, it started idling rough, pouring white smoke out the exhaust, and leaking water at the back of the head. so it blew the headgasket somehow. it ran perfect until then, no idle issues or sputtering or anything, so it had to be all obd1 right? exept the motor itself? i know the block is a6, and pretty sure the head was too.

when the motor idles ok, but runs like crap when at higher rpms, its timing.
rent a timing light from autozone or wherever, there is no other way to set ignition timing. it will never run well until you do.
the reason i told you to turn the crank completely around counter clockwise is so it takes all the slack out of the belt. then you will see if you are off a tooth or not.
from your description, it sounds like the car was correctly set up for the a6.
the steps for what your are doing are exactly the same as for a b7/z6 mini-me.
i would search every 'how-to' for b7/z6 mini-me that google can find, and look through them for a step that you might have missed or did incorrectly. between that and the ignition timing, i think you will resolve your issue.

A little late but.

hey

hey man i know this aint the right thread for this but i was woundering if you could tell me what pedestal and mount i need to run for this to work in my 95 ex coupe got motor ready but can't no body tell me these mount on driver side to run thanks

is the cel on? if so why not just check the codes? and if your map isnt hooked up im willing to bet thats the reason
