alright so i have a 2000 honda accord sedan lx 4 cyl. automatic. 143k miles.
1.)it was a hand me down car 1-2 yrs ago and now i wanna have fun with it.
2.) its a f23a1 vtec series
3.)the only mod i have right now is that i bought a cold air intake from injen(ill update once i put on and take a picture)
--i have the option of going short ram or cold air intake, the cold air will have to go behind the front bumper where i guess it gets more air even though idk how seeming its cramped there. which is better to do short ram or cold on a automatic?
4.) any other mods that would be good to the contribution of me burning the poop out of people on the road :D
5.)also when money comes to me, is it possible to engine swap my car? if so which would be better?
6.)is it possible to go from a 4 cylinder to a v6? if so do i have to change transmissions?
7.) how much money would it take to go manual?
8.) yes i know it would be better to just buy a new car with manual but i cant finance one:(

how do you insert pics from hardrive? there is an insert image but it is asking for url

can i get some advice from some accord owners or experts in general? thanks!

you really should just take some time and read around the roum. you will get enough answers on here.

and you have free, 2000 accord. just drive it and be happy with it. if you want a tuner, buy something else. that car isn't inted to be a racer.

then again most cars aren't meant to be racers but people find out a way to tune it out to make it fast. i will be happy with it when i make it fast. i have 2 15's but that entertains me for so long

imho, you are going to try to mod your car, blow it up, then not have a car.

your car is an automatic accord. it's a grocery getter. enjoy getting good mileage and a smooth ride.

In regards to the intake, the cold air doesn't necessarily provide MORE air, but rather COLDER air (hence the title). As for which way to set it up, it's really up to you. If you're in a place that gets bad weather pretty frequently, then you might want to just go with the short ram. With the filter hanging down by the bumper (cold air setup) you're more likely to have the intake slurp up some water.

As for "burning the poop out of people", that ain't gonna happen on a 4 banger slush-box Accord without a MAJOR investment of money (i.e. turbo, motor swap, both, etc.). Sorry, but this just isn't a high performance platform. There are no cheap mods that will significantly up your power output.

You can pretty easily swap to a Prelude engine (H22). V6 swaps are possible too, as is an auto-to-manual conversion. But honestly, if you can't finance another car that's roughly equivalent to the one you've got (10ish year old econo car), then I kind of doubt that you can afford an engine swap or an auto-to-manual conversion. We're talking thousands of dollars here.

As for how to insert pictures from your hard drive, you don't. You can't just paste pictures from your computer's hard disc onto the Internet. Go get yourself a photobucket account (www.photobucket.com) or a MySpace or FaceBook or something, paste your pictures there, and then use the picture utility here...

And yes, if you swap to a V6 then you must also swap to a V6 compatible transmission. Sorry, forgot to answer that the first time around...

In reference to modding an Accord...
Modding Hondas or any import really is getting a more powerful engine in a lighter chassis. Many people will tell you that Integras are the "crates" that motors for Civics come in. An Accord is even heavier. Point being, put your motor in an EF and you have a rocket ship.

Like everyone else said, keep the Accord as is. Buy a late 80s, early 90s Civic or Integra to mod. Then, when something breaks on the tuner car, you still can get to work in the Accord.

I'm a joke? Yeah, okay. I gave you the most complete and detailed answer out of anyone that responded, yet you can only focus on how butt-hurt you are by the fact that I shut down your useless retarded threads that never should have existed in the first place?

Yeah okay buddy, keep it up, see what happens...

lol what would happen? ban me? okay? threats over internet are very man like

I don't get off on "threatening "people", I'm just saying, if you're going to be an ass then I'll be happy to give you a little vacation from HondaSwap. It's your choice.

Like I said, I gave you a VERY thorough and complete answer to your question, but rather then being thankful and proceeding with the discussion from there, you're instead focusing on the fact that I shut down some of the other stupid, redundant threads you started. I'm a moderator here dude. It's my JOB to clean up stupid crap on the forums.

Either participate in HondaSwap or don't. If you're just here to argue, then don't bother please...

anyways whats an EF that slushbox was talking about?

EF = 88-91 Civic

alright well is it possible to swap my engine with a honda perlude?

Are you serious? Are you really serious here?

Go up and read my response, post # 8, third paragraph. Here's the exact quote:

You can pretty easily swap to a Prelude engine (H22). V6 swaps are possible too, as is an auto-to-manual conversion.

You write out a clusterfuck of a question, and I actually take the time to answer ALL of it for you in GREAT DETAIL, and you can't even be bothered to read my response?

Enjoy your stay here on HondaSwap. I'm done trying to help you...
