Toshiba.. it has a 50000:1 contrast ratio compared to the Sonys 30000:1 .. plus the Toshiba is a 120hz compared to the Sony at 60Hz

all around better TV
not sure about quality wise.. but thats what warranties are for right

the Panasonic gets my vote out of that list.

Todays plasmas are FAR better than old at dealing with glare and high room lights.

I would get the Panasonic as well.

Regarding Toshibas, a friend of mine manages the Rent-A-Center in this area and he says that out of the "name brand" TVs that have gone through his store, Toshibas tend to have failures more often. All things considered, the units in question are probably not maintained very well and are sometimes used in questionable environs but even so I will probably never buy a Toshiba.

geez...

do you guys finally believe me when i say Plasma > LCD (not localized dimming tho...that shit is good, but still expensive)

only thing i'm worried about is burn-in.. i know they're not supposed to do it anymore, but its still in my head.. ..

I got a vizio for a great price and its been an great tv. Best buy for the money imo!

I've been doing some research on these lately as well, and I've decided to go with a Samsung Plasma.

Between the contrast ratio and the 600hz refresh rate you just can't beat it with an LCD.

plasmas have pixel shift technology now. basically it moves stuff 1px over (too small to notice) to each pixel gets a new color/etc all the time and prety much defeats burn-in.
