hey guys, i ran through a puddle in the ol del sol... brock a rod in half and broke a piston skirt in cyl 1. while the bottom end is torn out would it be possible to swap in some stock honda pistons to raise compression while not giving me clearance issues? its a b18b1... what r my options guys? thanks in advance!

they don't fit ls rods.

p30 b16 pistons do though and are probably as high as you want to go without doing serious cams/headwork to match.

PCT pistons will fit, just ahve to take off 1mm off on each side of the small end of the rod or the inside of the piston. Most machine shops will do it.

thanks alot bro! what wrist pins would i have to use? and any idea of what comp ratio that would bump me to?

Years ago, I saw a LS swap JG complete head in a 92-95 hatch with stock ECU, trans and bottom end gutted with little slicks (and H/I/E) hitting low low 13's the entire day (in 95 degree summer temps)

It sounded crazy and distinct (in comparison to al the other hondas running) I would here it from a far and run to see what time he was hitting. Eventually found him in the pit and asked him about the set up.

It can be respectful for sure and make some VTEC guys mad....and with P30 pistons, chip, tune......watch out.

I have used the p30 pistons in LS motors for MANY customers with great results. Compression is still very manageable with pump gas and it really 'wakes up' the LS engines :)

I would NOT use the PCT pistons. This is way to much compression for a street engine, especially with any non-VTEC cams. You would need significant overlap to make use of that kind of compression - and on an LS that means crappy driveability
