welcome to the life of a crackberry.

how come u picked a 8530 curve over the 9630 tour?

nevermind i didnt know the tour didnt have wifi and that the specs are close between the two.

heres some apps i recommend
google maps
beweather
crackberry app store (some good free apps from crackberry.com also under downloads)
buzzme
quickpull
scoremobile (if your into sports)

I myself am trying to decide between a Blackberry and some other type of smart phone. I don't particularly want an Iphone seeing as I already have an iPod Touch. I was kind of thinking I'd get a BlackBerry so I could get work e-mails on the fly, but I've had a few people tell me that the Internet really sucks on them and their plans are expensive, so I don't know now...

i wil have to check out those apps you posted ripperbone.

Brutal...i only paid $50 from mine from Sprint and they had a buy 1 get 1 free on them. cant beat it for the price and its the best bang for the buck.

im slowly figuring this thing out...lol.

My Palm Pre has been treating me damn well if anyone on sprint is looking for some more options when it comes to smartphones. The 1.4 update that came out this weekend enabled video recording/editing too.

depends on your service provider. im on tmobile and I pay $25 for the blackberry add on plan which includes my email and web. i know on att the blackberry plan is $30 and so is the iphone plan. idk how much sprint charges for the blackberry add on, it might be included in the price

as far as the internet goes on my blackberry is its not as good as the iphone or nexus 1 internet but its one of the better internets i have used on a phone

let me know if you need any help with it. also idk what version of software your phone has but I do know there is a new one out which is 5.0.0.756 from sprint and 5.0 is well worth getting and i recommend updating the software.

heres a link on how to do it and where to get the update
Newest OS 8530 v5.0.0.459 (Multilanguage) - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com

also look around crackberry.com and im sure you also be able to find answers

it will take u a few days or weeks to get used to your phone.

Yeah I'm on AT&T, so it'll be $30 a month. I actually went into an AT&T store and told them I was interested in a BlackBerry and the sales lady tried to talk me out of it. She said to look at some other smart phones instead because the internet blows on BlackBerrys. It's one thing for one of my buddies to say "Nah, BlackBerrys suck dude", but to have a sales person actually be hesitant to recommend one? But then again, a bunch of people at work have them and seem to really like them.

I dunno, I heard that at some AT&T stores they actually have displays with functioning phones that you can try out, so maybe I'll hit up some other stores and mess with the phones before I decide...

I just got the Tmobile My Touch, which is a HTC Android phone. its pretty sweet so far, just have to get used to it.

wow that lady blows infact the att stores reps blow, my father in law went in to one to get a new battery for his razr and the sales man talked him in to a cheap pos motorola phone saying it was better than his razr and well that phone lasted about 2 hours, now he has a iphone

yeah you need to play with the phones and the blackberrys, as far as the other smartphones att offers... the real only choice then is the iphone or the new android motorola backflip (comes out march 7). the windows phones suck and are slow and the web is worse then the blackberry.

heres my recommendations for you on att phones.
iphone - 3gs
blackberry 9700
motorola backflip

to love a blackberry you have to play with one more than a few minutes in the stores i didnt like the BB at first but now after my 4th one I love it and I tried different android phones and also had the iphone. I thought about another iphone, I had a 32 gig 3gs in my hand from a buddy and i was temped to trade it for my 9700 but didnt.

I am a crackberry for lifer.. I love my 8530, it's a great upgrade and way better than anything else available on the sprint network. Good choice. The apps store is great too, you can also check it out online on blackberry.com might be easier when you are browsing through all the apps.

I have a BB Storm. Am I the only one paying $70 a month on it? I have unlimited texts but that should not bump up the price that much.

Are you the only one on the plan? If so, that sounds about right. Actually, it might be about right either way. Figure about $30-$40 a month just for service, and then whatever your provider's Blackberry service fee is...

It actually a family plan. But as soon as my contract is up my getting my own anyway. Then I'll shop around for the best phone and network for the best price.

$70 a monthisnt bad, how many minutes do you have and is the text unlimited?

on tmobile you can get unlimited talk, text, and web for $80 for single line

hell i pay $130 for my family plan. $60- 1000 mins, $10 unlimited text, $25 for blackberry addon, $25 for wifes google addon, and $10 for sister n laws line addon.
