hey guys

so the question

what the problems if you put a 11:6 pistons with gsr/b16 ECU on a b18 non vtec ?

I now It is a stupit question Lol but I want to now all the problems

Thanks

b16 1600cc b18 1800cc

Most commonly a larger displacement will have larger pistons;)
compression ratio is not entirely significant in this case.
Neither is running a (gsr)vtec ECU on a non vtec motor.

detonation, piston meld down, main rod and bearings being chewed up, fling a rod, crack ringland, crack a sleeve, scratch up skirts and walls......in short dont to it, you will have major engine falilure.

If you have money to build a engine you should have money to tune it.

B16a/b and B18a/b both have 81mm bore and same sized pistons. stroke, rods, deck high, and crank is diffrent.

also compression hight, piston dome, and pin hight all play factors in CR.

Thats right....B16 is the Baby Stroke. But its a ferocious baby!!

I agree, they are factors. Just not significant. If I understand his thread right, he is wanting to know why he cant run his b16/gsr ecu with a b18 motor.
Where compression ratio is a factor/significant?
I suppose unclear questions will get unclear answers.

looks like he wants to run a 11.6:1 CR on a LS non vtec engine and run a P72 or P30 ecu.

That will happen, just tune it.
